Question to Puzzle Fighter players
ZigZagMan | 7:46 AM on 09.04.2007 5 comments

Ok, after playing the game and remembering how awesome it is and it being one of the few games I like playing online, I need some help.

Which character do I choose?

I get the pattern return idea, and that Dan is a joke character and that some counter gem things are unbalanced (Felicia giving the opponent power gems for example), but I don't get how the different counter gems fight each other. I usually just choose Dan since his seems to be the simplest.

Any advice of what character to choose? I have absolutely no idea what difference it really makes.

Master Chief at Madam Tussauds
ZigZagMan | 4:59 AM on 09.02.2007 7 comments

Halo fanboys should go and take a cold shower now.

Leaked shots sent to the guys at GamerTagRadio suggest that a certain spartan may be arriving at Madam Tussauds some time soon.

Apparently it's pretty much to scale and stands about 7ft tall. Probably will be unveiled in a fantastic explosion of marketing sometime soon.

Am I a bad person?

Googled for a Bioshock image and got this. Nothing to do with my post :D

Ok, I completed Bioshock early this afternoon (Don't worry, no spoilers) and I had a bit of a gaming moral point.

Should I trade the game in?

The game is fantastic, no doubt about that. I love the art style, the story, the tone, the music. It recalls the classic PC rpg/fps mashups (Deus Ex, System Shock (duh) and all that). It is definitely in my top ten favourite games.

All in all don't see the point of owning it any more. I've finished it, I'm curently broke, I need my gaming fix and it's only going to go down in price on trade ins. So I traded it in.

And it's not just achievement anxiety: I don't like playing through a game again and picking up all the little things. No orbs, no skulls, no cats. As much as I love the tapes and listening to them, there's a bit where you can something or not do something and if you don't do the something you can't get some of the tapes and plasmids. I'm not going to play the entire game again to get them back.

But I still felt weird about trading it in.

Any thoughts?

PS. Yes, I hear the cries of "SHOULD HAVE RENTED IT" already, but I have a cycle of trading in games constantly to get GAME credit and with the reward points on my card it means that I've got a perpetual motion machine of video game purchase. I haven't bought a game with queen-heads since Gears of War.

A momentous day!

10K Gamerscore, w00t w00t w00t!

Finally managed to get over the 10000 points mark with a little help from Bioshock. Managed a nice 6 hours run, wearing nothing but my Guinesss underwear and surviving only on garlic bread and tea. Creepy woman opposite me was watching said marathon, I imagined she was rooting for me as well. I'd like to thank my family, agent and of course, you the viewer.

To celebrate, I'm gonna go have a 24-athon with Admirals Pie and a few cold ones. Laters

Some XBLA Prices halved for Labour day
ZigZagMan | 1:26 PM on 08.30.2007 10 comments

For this weekend only a few games are getting 50% price cuts: Zuma, Small Arms, Dig Dug, and Gauntlet. So Zuma and Small Arms will be 400 points and Dig Dug and Gauntlet will be 200 points.

Definatly nice news for me: Small Arms and Dig Dug hand away points like candy to underprivalged children, and I've always thought dropping 1200 points for achivements was a big stupid. But now it's 600 points, I'm all for it :D

Also, my sister loves Zuma and is always bugging me to buy the full version.

Cool beans or what?
