Its hard to deviate from the standard laundry list of stuff that everyone puts in these things. I play games, but who doesn't? Of my 21 years here, I've played for 19 of them and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. I'm pretty down-to-earth and I like to think that I don't really have any allegiances to any particular company, so I don't really respond to threats of fanboyism. Right now I'm working on my Gamerscore with a 360 and maybe eventually a PS3, but not too soon. I've played just about anything this side of the sun but I always find myself going back to platformers and third-person action games.
If you want to know my favorite games, just ask. Throw some names out there and I'll tell you if I've played them and what I thought.

I'm dedicating these blogs to games that, had they been released in North America, might have done fairly well considering their specific audiences. Usually they'll be games that would have been good or merely games that I want for my own personal reasons. Typically, it'll boil down to whatever I feel it fits.
In this edition, I'll be covering the finer points of a game that blended two parts Dynasty Warriors with equal parts Onimusha. That game is...
Demon Chaos
Brought to the world by the wonderful people at Genki (responsible for the Jade Cocoongames as well as the Kengo series), this game was published by Konami and released in Japan in late 2005 under the title Ikusagami. Demon Chaos was the title created for it's EU release earlier this year.
Now, if anyone reading this does recognize the name, it more than likely because they heard of the incredible feat that the developer was able to accomplish with nothing less than technology considered "last-gen". That feat was placing 65,535 enemies on one battlefield. Don't believe me? Here's some YouTube to prove it.
I know that it gets a little messy once the action starts to get heavy, but now you know that I'm not lying. As you saw, the battle system is very reminiscent of the DW games. Just your typical hack, slash, rinse and repeat sort of game. Of course, the plot doesn't seem too heavy either.
[q]Demon Chaos is set against the backdrop of feudal Japan, in the year 1543. While the civil war rages, legions of demons suddenly emerge from Lake Suwa and all of mankind finds itself under threat. The gods decide to send a hero to lead the reunited human forces, and the player becomes this immortal warrior.[/q]
Details regardless, I have to admit that I wanted this game. Badly. And yet... it never came. Perhaps Konami didn't think that it would have sold well enough. I certainly think it would have. At the time, there were no large releases looming over the calendar (to my knowledge). Maybe they just didn't think too much of bringing it to the West.
That about does it for the first round of Why Not Us. Leave some comments or suggestions for future games and please please please let me know what you thought. Thanks.
Terranigma actually did make it to US shores. I suppose it was just really underrated as far as story and gameplay went. Granted, it was put out by Enix who, at the time, was in the height of its competition with Squaresoft. Overall it was an awesome game though.
Aaahh... well then I suppose that's the answer then. What with all the competition in the US, maybe they just didn't want to release it here for fear it would be swept under the carpet with other dungeon-crawling action games. Your input is duly noted and taken into consideration.
The game is actually alot of fun. I should try and look for the UK version. Since y'know, I can't read Japanese and that's the version I actually have. It can be played with out it but I would prefer it :P.
Shinobido is another game. It's amazing and I don't know why they didn't bring it here. If you're a fan of the Tenchu series then you'd totally love it.
