During Spring Break, two friends and I, all seniors in high school, decided to try and make
an iPhone game. About two months later, our company, Disposable Thumbs, officially
released our first game for the iPhone, called Vortex. The game is a physics based
puzzle game, where your objective is to guide a spaceship back to Earth using various
tools given to you each level. The tools include black holes, which suck in the ship towards
it, repel holes, which push the ship away from it, bouncy walls, which reflect the ship based
on the angle of impact, and speedup and slow down platforms, which alter the ship's speed,
and thus how much it is affected by gravity. It also features a level editor and the ability to
upload and download levels. We really think that this game has potential, so if it can hit
one of the popular app pages, we think it'll take off. Sadly, there is no lite version yet, but the
game is only $2. There is also a level that strikes a uncanny resemblance to a certain video
game blog mascot...
