Today sees the release of two new electro-pop/witch-house/epic space-synth albums from The Electric Witch. The one of most interest to old-school video game lovers is NEScapism, a collection of Nintendo covers wrapped up in a loving, nostalgic glow. It includes iconic tracks from Castlevania, Dragon Quest, The Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy and Metroid. Slathered in layers of melodic retro synth sounds and more modern production, NEScapism isn't so much a reinvention of the classics as much as it is a simple love-letter to these formative songs.

The other album is all original material called Assassin. It follows the same ideas of NEScapism, though with a slightly darker slant, as well as 100% vocoded (a.k.a. robotic i.e. Daft Punk-like) vocals. Themes of cosmic loneliness, sex, love, broken relationships and yes, killing, anchor the muscular layers of synths and beats.

You can stream it all for free, download a couple free tracks and buy each album for only $1.

[Note: You may remember the 2 hour epic/drone remix album Dream with Portals from Dirty Knobs featured on Dtoid not long ago. It's still completely free (pay what you want) as well!]

These are pretty awesome remixes. The kind of stuff you can listen too while you're working. Thanks for sharing, I'm downloading my copies now :D
Wow it is depressing that I don't have the money to even give you $1 for this stuff. >.< *bookmarked for later*
Buy this man's music. I demand it.
Done and done. Lovely mixes; downloading them now.
Thanks everyone! Yeah Ramminchuck, you can always stream it all for free. Sharing the link or liking the page is also acceptable currency. :D
