Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I remember a western themed mod being done for the PS3... the initial concept art was incredible! Any idea if this mod died off... or is still being worked on? Have you come across it at all?
Your blog brought this to mind because Borderlands sort of has a tiny bit of a "wild west" feel to it and I think this was sort of what they were going for with the UT3 mod.
Wait, you're posting MORE awesome UT3 mods?
Hells yeah.
@Elsa: There are 2 western themed mods for UT3 at moddb, but none of them seem to be anywhere near playable. Gunslinger seems dead but at least Warm Gun has had an update as recently as 2 days ago.

@Elsa
I find the general lack of Western theme in video games very dissappointing, shooters especially since late 19th Century America was the era of the gun.
People would say it's because historical accuracy prevents this but nearly all WW2 FPS games have you marching around with SMGs and lugging around MGs like they were ARs when in reality the main infantry weapon of WW2 were bolt action rifles.
@Jon B
Sadly this'll probably be the last mention of UT3 mods for a bit since MSU Phase 4 has already chosen the participants which means there's going to be a long drought of new mods for UT3 for awhile. Especially since Mark Rein a few months ago suggested UT3 would stop getting supported by Epic via patches.
@Narishma
Yeah I try to stick to mods that are completed, have people playing, or have a playable prototype. Though Warm-Gun made it to MSU4 so maybe once it concludes they'll have I hope a playable Alpha or such.
Warm gun! That was it! Glad to know that it's still being worked on!
Nothing to do with your post specifically... I just love the Yehat!!!
