Dragonball Evolution: the aftermath
YaMissed2 | 4:13 AM on 04.17.2009 11 comments

well this week i decided to go to a movie... and so i chose Dragonball Evolution, strictly due to the fact that the trailers had made the Movie seem like a complete flop, but then i saw a clip from the movie that made me curious, so i figured i got nothing better to do, and it is only 6 bucks, what the hell i will do it, worse case scenario it is a train wreck, best case it try to be 100% faithful.

well i went and i must say the movie is actually not bad, it never takes it's self seriously, and while it is missing some of the support charicters like Krillin, Tien, Chou Su, Puar, Ox King, Oolong, and Yajirobe, which were not really missed (even though Krillin was my favorite charicter in the sereis), personally i wished that they had left out Bulma, and Yamcha as their acting was horrible. Goku and Chi Chi do a great job of carrying the movie, playing out alot like the part of DBZ where Gohan tries wooing Videll. The best part of this movie, and most of its best moments came when Master Roshii (Played by Chow Yun Fat) is on screen, and his performance is show stealing, he clearly had the time of his life playing this role, and it shows on film it was almost the type of performance we have come to expect out of Jackie Chan in recent years.

all in all if you are looking for a fun movie to see, give it a shot, you could do a whole lot worse, just don't expect much for sticking to the cannon of the cartoon.

I am going to see it in a few hours. No-one else wanted to go with me lol.

Have to then come back wait for the wife to finish work then go back again to watch Crank.

Am glad its not completely shit, but at the same time i think it would make it funnier watching an abortion on screen.

I downloaded this movie and skimmed through it to find the crappiest cgi "kamehameha" (or how ever it's spelled), I've ever seen. I proceeded to deleting it immediately.

I want to see it for some odd reason. It looks so awful, so it could prove to be entertaining.

I saw it last night and astounded by how horrific but funny it was. You never laugh with the characters, only at them though there are several instances where it almost seems as if the actors think it's a joke too.

My only question is why they would try to produce it the way they did if they didn't have the money for special effects or good fight choreography. Like its sooooo bad, why did they even bother?

Oh man, was it amazingly bad.

So, me and a friend got in the theater it was playing in, and we and a poor family with two young ones screaming KAMEHAMEHA, were the only ones there.

I had just finished watching those abridged things on youtube, so I couldn't do anything but make references to them the entire time.

Yamcha was awesome.

lol i have just come back from seeing it. A whole 10 people watching!

I was actually offended that i didnt find it as bad as i had hoped.

Dont get me wrong it was bad, but i had fun with it. Chow Yun Fat is raggo as always.

I thought this blog was going to be about the countless hordes of people who were fired because they allowed this movie to be created.

My friends and I are going to see this tomorrow, but we are going to have a quick conference call with Jack Daniels before hand to increase our enjoyment of the film.

First half of it was so bad it was awesome. Second half was so bad I wanted to kill myself

It was probably the least faithful thing ever.

In the first 10 seconds, I saw that Goku was old and that Gohan was alive and I'm like wait what? Gohan should be dead.

It was mostly disappointing from there. Might have been better if it was subbed. If only because it sounds so ridiculous when american actors talk about DBZ stuff in english.

OK, you must have been really drunk and high when you saw this movie, because every other human being who saw the film thought it sucked. It wasn't even a "fun movie". It sucked floppy donkey dick.
