[ Blogger's Comment: Justice and Coonskin used to write a wonderful blog series titled: What ever happened to..? Highlighting a particular Dtoid member that has been AWOL. While chatting with a few Dtoiders I wondered the same thing about this gent. What follows is the fruition of that query. ]


If there is one thing that I am constantly amazed at by Destructoid as a community, is its eclectic members. From young to young at heart ( read:OLD. ), to artists of all kinds, to trolls and fanboys too, Destructoid houses and fluffs its' welcome mat to all. With Destructoid getting larger by the day it's only natural that some members that were once staples or infamous, for whatever reason decide to move on and leave our happy isles of gaming utopia. But like all good things there is new blood that quickly comes in and while not take their place, they make a mark in the pathos that is the Dtoid Community. As I write this there are 25.278 members in our ranks. What will it be tomorrow? Or the next day after that? Did Niero even envision the amount of growth this site experiences?

Interesting questions that will wait for another time as this post I thought I would don a revisionist's hat and look back at a lost son of our robot overlord. Ladies and Gentlemen may I present to you:

ShadowXOR. When I first joined Destructoid not too long ago, this self-professed Xbox360 enthusiast was always on Dtoid. Trumpeting his opinions for all who wanted to hear and just as much to those that didn't, ShadowXOR was a lot of things but shy wasn't one of them. From pouncing on unsuspecting newbies to the Toid, to ripping people's opinions to shreds..including our own editors, he was as much part of Destructoid as herpes is a part of Buck F1tches. With his Hot Fuzz avatar and his obsessive love for all things 360, you never knew when he was going to blow.. only the certainty that he would, either in the Cblogs themselves or in the comment section of frontpage articles.

So what happened to him? Where is he now? Rumors have run amok from him being incarcerated for stalking Bill Gates to his Xbox360 getting yet another RROD that went beyond the warranty thus he ending his own life in a last show of affection for his system of choice. ShadowXOR and I have even had cross words amongst ourselves but whatever I may have thought of him, 360 troll or a passionate gamer..he was one of our own. A Dtoider who was opinionated and didn't back down. Even though I didn't see eye to eye with him you gotta respect him on a certain level for that.

Last seen peddling his own gaming site here, and even there he is AWOL.
