For those who are weird and may actually want to read more of my stuff here are things off the blog I do. Occasionally I wrote for Flixist, a rad movie site where, get this, we talked about and reviewed movies. I have long since stopped writing there ( and here ) as I feel like I've said all I have had cooped up in my head without sounding redundant.

You fear me? So you should. All you who are vile. Would you like to know how you will die? The sacred time is near. Beware the blackness of day. Beware the man who brings the jaguar. Behold him reborn from mud and earth. For the one he takes you to will cancel the sky, and scratch out the earth. Scratch you out. And end your world. He's with us now. Day will be like night. And the man jaguar will lead you to your end.

On the surface, there is nothing different about today. I awoke just like I do everyday. I fix myself a bagel smothered with strawberry cream cheese accompanied by a robust cup of coffee. I get online, head to Destructoid, read all the c blogs, head to the forums ( my stomping grounds ) and look through various threads. Finishing my bagel, I pour another cup of joe, turn away from the computer and skim the many games I have in my collection. Which one will raise its proverbial hand in order for me to notice it and in turn put some loving playtime with today?

That's when a revelation hits me. Today is April 26th. That means tomorrow one of my favorite games, a game that has brought me much joy, will become irrelevant and unfortunately be put to pasture by yours truly. I will never play this game again after today. I am saddened by that fact. By its early demise, its impending death and so I take it out of its still pristine case, insert the game disc in my PS3 and put some time into the time trials that I haven't finished yet with certain characters. For those that are not fighting game fanatics and have not memorized the date of April 27th as the day Super Street Fighter IV comes out, then I guess I'll have to tell you the game I'm talking of never playing again is Street Fighter IV. Or how it's affectionately called by those who have played this game to death and await the new iteration...vanilla.

I put about an hour more of game time towards it, never do finish the time trials that I wanted to finish and put the disc back in the case. That's all she wrote for that. No more intending to play for just an hour and playing till the wee hours of the morning. No more playing against my Dtoid homies, especially Solgrim and while playing talking amongst ourselves how we can't wait for SSFIV to come out. No more putting time into the practice mode perfecting a certain combo with Gen that I still can't quite get. Just no more. Fin. The end. Asta luego.

I think about writing a proper send off in a blog here. I even contemplate giving away my copy of it to some poor soul who hasn't experienced the bliss of an honest well honed fighting game. Then I think, no, those folks should be steered to the better, even more polished grounds of the new SSFIV with more characters, more ultras, more tactics/combos to uncover, real online lobbies, and the return of a better Guile. Perhaps this is sacrileges but the best send off to Street Fighter IV is to ignore it all together. To move on to the lands of the new and improved.

It's been fun SFIV. Thanks for the memories.

I'm not getting super for ps3 anytime soon. So brush up, bro.
@Senisan82 - ...why?
Hell Yeah! One more day!!!
Don't cry Jimbo. It's only Street Fighter.
You should frame the disc and hang it on a wall. I wanted to do it with my cracked Warhawk disc but keep forgetting to do it.
Off to the land of misfit toys, to be played on a low-gig launch PS3 with Backward Compatibility that some snot nosed kid abandoned when he upgraded to the new hotness...

meanwhile, its time for some super street fightan!
LMAO!
My PS3 is ready to fight you again.
@SantanaClaus89:

So true. I did utter those words and learned that SF4 was indeed a great game. I STILL prefer my fighting games 2D but there's no denying Capcom's greatness. On to SUPAH fools!

And a certain rose throwing gentleman wants to have a word with your Blanka, lol.
I would feel a bit sad about never touching SFIV again, but I've played this game to DEATH since it came out. I've gotten way more than my money's worth. Can't wait for Super tomorrow.

I've been avoiding SF for the past week - you know, absence makes the heart grow fonder? Also, Mass Effect 2 currently has me by the balls.
Having no skill with Street Fighter, I can only appreciate it from afar but I do remember the day my arcade got rid of the Marvel vs. Capcom cabinet. That was a sad day in my world.
Jimbo, I'm getting SSF4 for PS3 instead of 360. You have been warned.
Being in the Uk my copy of sfiv still has four days of life in it.
I hear you. Losing Halo 2's online was a somber occasion. We, the two of us? We're sharing pain across consoles and genres. We're practically brothers now. Adios SF4, you did these people proud.
FUUUUUUUUUU-I'VE SEEN THAT MOVIE.
You're not going to play it ever again?
I'll take it off your hands to help you forget about it.
Also I heard Turkish wrestling rules.
I suck at street fighter. But I'm so goddamn excited for SSFIV!
Fun fact: Jimbo already bought his weights worth of oil in preparation for this game.
And here I am thinking you were going to finally retire

You silly, silly old man.
This post was so intense. And then I saw PappaDukes Barbie DS game and I cracked the hell up.
I can relate.
Well just think of all the great games you'll never play again, but never actually realize that fact, because you assume it's always possible you'll get back to it someday. Really, it's nice to know for sure.
My copy of Street Fighter 4 is going to go on the shelf. I don't mean that in a bad way; it's something I consider a term of honor for my games. To be shelved is almost to be in a display case in a museum, a glorious memorial to all of its incredible moments. Preserved forever in infamy.

It will be the first fighting game to go "on the shelf" for me. Absolutely unforgettable.
Awesome sendoff for a game I don't give a damn about--almost makes me wish I did.

I'll still pour out a 40 for it, though.
Yojimbo, I have never owned and have very rarely played Street Fighter. However, I will be getting SSFIV, and I challenge you to a duel for honor... Be gentle.
There should be an adoption program for the suckers who didn't own Street Fighter IV/don't have the money for Super Street Fighter IV. I could learn to love 25 characters and limited options for a reduced price!
I've poured many hours into SFIV. I remember how much playing through the story pissed me off because the computers were damn cheaters! But it also brought me just as much enjoyment playing online with friends and strangers. I'm so glad SSFIV brings so much more to the online aspect. I can't wait!

BTW Yojimbo, who's your favorite character to use? And also which new character are you most looking forward to play as in SSFIV?
I'll take that copy of your hands. I never got around to SFIV... I have no friends anyways...
My Vega and you have unfinished business.
stupid PAL release dates.
must...survive...till...friday...urghhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Apocalypto eh?

I cancelled my preorder after looking at my list of games to play in May. That + all you assholes are on the wrong timezone!
You're old and I want to beat you at Super, but you don't have the damned game!

Also, SFIV was a good game despite what many folks around here would lead you to believe.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I've got the game and you don't Jimbo! LOL!!

Also, Dudley is ridiculously good... The same can be said for most of the new characters.
Likewise, I hate the fact that some older games don't have a dedicated multiplayer following to allow people slow off the blocks to join in any online games. Whilst SFIV will still have its followers, the community move is gonna grow until there are empty lobbies.
Is that picture from the movie The Warrior?

Loved that film.

Even if it isn't...Loved that film.
I'm sorry Pew, I'm not a big fan of fighters.
It's so lonely out here on the PC.
I've had mine since friday. Shit is Godly.
ok im ready to mop the floor with all yous suckas!
I need to get in on this competition. Hopefully, my new internet provider is up to snuff.
