It amazes me people are interested in the new Street Fighter IV as it keeps looking more and more of a mockery of the old school kick in your teeth Street Fighter of old. Seems like people want to see characters with frying pans and less than lighting quick response times to their joystick and button inputs. Meh, whatever.

This isn't the point of this post so I'll continue. Come next week for those who download Battlefield: Commandos 3 for Xbox live will be receiving a beta of the upcoming Street Fighter II HD with it's extra coat of paint. Lovely. So I thought to myself before we usher in the new, why not revisit the past? Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting in all its old school pixelated glory is already there on Xbox live ready to be rocked.

A REAL man's game.

I see all you 360 Owners blog about how profound this game was/is, how for some it was the start of an affair, how 2D fighting is where it's at. Yet I never see a post with a title like Street Fighter II Night: Bring it Edition. Or something likewise. Well leave it to a PS3 enthusiast to show you how it's done. I just got my 360 back from repairs and I'm ready to kick anybody's ass in Street Fighter II: HF.

Any takers? Do you think you can kick this Old Man's ass in this game? Remember this game ain't got no fancy ten hit combos or supers to bail you out of trouble. Are you man enough to fight me? Or do you 360 owners only blog about fighting games? Here's your chance to knock my smug grin off my face. But know this, if you can't, you will be ridiculed for the skill-less mongrel you really are in an update blog for all ( Especially my PS3 brethren ) to laugh at. Maybe the Retroforce crew can show me how it's done ( LMAO.. yeah right. ) or those guys at the Failcast can stop patting each other on their bottoms long enough for a battle ( I don't think they can if they tried.. lol ). I'm ready. Been ready for years kiddies. Are you?

Here's what I propose. Thursday Night. 8PM EST. XBOX LIVE. QUARTER MATCHES. If people happen to show up in abundance I'll work something out for multiple hosts. Show me these supposed skills Ladies. I promise to take it easy on you the first round.

I'm not gonna lie, I love SF2. But I really am not amazing at the XBOX version you would most likely beat me. I would come but my friend has/is borrowing my 360 for awhile now so I don't really have any ways of getting on xbox live :\

This version is gets the job done. In the beginning there were some lag issues but they have been ironed out thru updates. The only thing that's shit are people's skillz.

Surprising that so few of you people don't have this classic in your Xbox Live Arcade Library. I bought this day one like Lemon. I expected excuses for people not wanting to get their asses handed to them by me, but not owning the cheap game on LIVE was not one of them.. :)

Also, SF4 looks amazing and everyone who's played it so far seems to can't get enough of it.

I'll always prefer Street Fighter III or Zero over Street Fighter II. The graphics of SF4 look really gay, but the fact, that it's SF2 gameplay is a punch in the face.
What I would pay for an arcade perfect Street Fighter III: Third Strike with good online.

So does that mean you'll show up since you own it Reaprar? The dpad is quite manageable. I do just fine. The lag is like any games online..comes and it goes. Looking forward to see you there Reaprar or are you just saying what the cool "cheap" kids are saying about the game cuasue they don't want to fork over 10 dolla? lol.

If you think this is unplayable, what makes you think the HD version , which is the same minus graphic touch up, will differ?

The d-pad on 360 is still bleh/fail. However, I've noticed that if one were to clean under it using a tiny dab of alcohol on a q-tip it does make some difference, in at least it responds better. Protip or not you be the judge!

I just saw this now, but I'll definitely challenge you guys in Street Fighter. I get raped pretty consistently in ranked matches against Ken, but I'll give it a shot.

And, for 007, I'm playing Streets of Rage 2 all the time on hardcore settings if you want to give it a shot. TMNT Arcade, as well.
