LMAO. Are you kidding me?? If this isn't an April Fool's joke and this is really the fabled 2.70 update for the PS3 then I think Sony are officially confirmed full blown retarded. The rumors have been rampant with this update being the one, the one that would bring cross talk between games, as well as the ability to send voice messages. Still other rumors had using your Home characters as avatars. This was supposed to have the PS3 XMB a few features closer to that of Xbox LIVE. Considering that LIVE has had cross talk between games since when forever and have had the ability to send voice messages to each other as well, one would think it be a no brainer for Sony to offer that to PS3 users. I mean they always say they are listening and working on what their users want, right? So what do we get?? 16 player TEXT chat rooms and having your friends list in another form of alphabetical order. What the FUCK?? What year is this?? TEXT chat rooms?? If I wanted to "text chat" I would try IRC. LMAO. Oh Sony...you so funny. Confirmed for PS3 update 2.71: The ability to have an alarm wake up function for the PS3.

i wish they would make my BS3 into something i actually want to turn on. they did it soooo well with the ps1 and the ps2.. why are they making it so difficult to love them. why yojimbo why?
In 2006 you got a console that couldn't even open a decent menu while playing a game. There was no plan for in-game XMB, let along cross-game chat. The console was designed to do what it did within a certain constraint of processing power and memory. Overcoming those constraints takes a lot of engineering and ingenuity, and while I'm sure they are working on it it will take time.
Honestly, I understand the rage. When you look at it from the perspective of Sony failing to deliver on a rumoured list of features, it makes me angry too. But really, the only thing that Sony has changed from you between yesterday and today is that today, you have a few more features than you did yesterday. They didn't promise you anything else.
You people bitched and moaned when In-game XMB. Just shut the fuck up in future, and do humanity a favour. It's not like you paid for this update is it. Ingrates.

I will actually get a PS3 the day that the price drops and Sony stops fucking around with their online features and pretending like they don't matter.
