Been a Destructoid Community member long? If the answer is yes, then you may know my penchant for at all times requesting anybody with an ounce of artistic ability to produce a bearded samurai for me. Actually some have called it begging, I beg to differ. Unbeknown to many there is a story behind that. I didn't just begin a one man quest of acquiring illustrated bearded samurai from people day one. It started with one amazing Dtoider who I have contemplated kidnapping and chaining him up in my basement so he could draw/paint for me on instruction. So enamored I was of his art that I requested him to do a bearded samurai. He agreed. Yet due to his work schedule that artist and early Dtoider friend known as Ceark hasn't fulfilled that original request. So distraught I was by not acquiring that elusive contribution by him that I lost all form of self control and humility and sought to fill that bearded samurai deficiency with works of other talented artists. And thus began my now infamous requests of all budding and accomplished artists here in Destructoid. I didn't have to scour for long because the best thing about this community is that unlike other places, this spot here is rich with artistic talent. Almost eerie in its abundance of it. The clincher is that they are as talented as they are kind in honoring my requests. Here are a few of them that some of you may have seen or may have forgotten. As well as some that have never seen the light of day. Consider this an extended thank you from me to them as well as an opportunity for you to gaze and shower them with kudos for their fine work. Ladies and Gentlemen... the bearded samurai galleria is now open to the public.
The GameGoblin was the first Dtoider to step to the plate and create my first ever bearded samurai. Why he doesn't make art blogs showcasing his fantastic work like some here eludes me. Awesome artist, awesome work, awesome Dtoider.
Scary Womanizing Pig Mask graced me with an illustration with his unique style as well. I've always wanted the original piece to this so I could mat and frame it. I have an empty office wall that begs to be filled up. Great stuff and as per usual awesome Dtoider.
This one is fairly recent and also captures my beg- my requestial tone. I laughed alot when I first saw it. Actually I still do. It's cool seeing PKF's work being displayed on the front page.
Iron Pikeman is up next. His modern day depiction was a treat considering I never knew he could even draw. I assumed that all he was good at was sucking at Killzone 2 and SOCOM. Imagine my surprise. I keep repeating myself but awesome work, yo. Keep it up!
This one has a home in my sidebar but still needs to be higlighted again. In my opinion, which may be biased, I still think this is Grumpy Turtle's finest work. Obviously he saw the movie Yojimbo as he captured Toshiro Mifune's classic pose. Crazy good.
Gaming Goddess actually honored my request with this realistic rendition of how a samurai is supposed to look hair and all. A bit on the softer side yet that's why I love it so. Fantastic work and wouldn't you know another fantastic Dtoid community member. It seems we grow them here.
Feast your eyes on that image above. Seriously how WIN is that? Can you believe I asked Dtoiter Primo for a bearded samurai and like the next day he whipped one up for me like it was nothing. And this was done in Microsoft Paint like the GameGoblin's was. I can't even draw googly eyes in paint and he did that in it. WOW. Now comes the time in my post that I show you an illustrated bearded samurai like no other. One that upon initial viewing left me stunned in silence by the sheer artistry. Ladies and Gentlemen I present to you BEARDED SAMURAI FIGHTING NINJAS!
This work of art was done by fellow Dtoider Shipero. Unknown to many people I have a disdain, a loathing to Ninjas. All Samurai do. That he captured this hatred unto canvas is stunning. Before everybody says where's Mikey's Samurai well if you are blind it's my Blog header. The greatest compliment I bestow upon Mickey is that I had a habit, almost obsessively of changing my banner every two weeks to sometimes daily. Ever since he gave me that header it has stayed in its place and will be there forever. I have one more thing. It's not a bearded samurai but there is no way I would leave this Dtoider out of my self created galleria. Considering I pummel him in Street Fighter IV, with Dan no less, I will show the world at large that while his Street Fighter skill maybe lacking... his artistic ability more than makes up for that. I really miss him doing these. Hurry up and get another camera hombre!! That's it for now. Hopefully I can acquire more bearded samurai from even more artists here. That's a HINT ya'll. If you have the time and feel like drawing me a bearded samurai by all means do so. I will greedily accept them and showcase them in Bearded Samurai Depictions OR How Talented Destructoid Community members got coerced by me. Voume Two Oh and Ceark if you're reading this... I'm still waiting. I'll wait for years if I have to to get a bearded samurai from you. :)

I agree! He's more than welcome to send one my way.
However, judging by Shipero's comment, I know that he automatically wins.
Nice work guys! Maybe some of you can draw me a Pikeman some time?
;)
