Having played my PS3 to the ends of the earth as of late with the release of MGS4 and MGO, I really found the L2 and R2 trigger/buttons/wutevers to be a bit of a pain. This was also apparent in my play through of Motorstorm, with me having to change the control settings so the R2 button was no longer accelerate. After looking on Play.com, I came across
these
The Gioteck Real Triggers. They are two pieces of plastic which clip over the R2 and L2 buttons, and turn them into a trigger, similar to that of the Xbox 360.
For £3.49, I did feel a little ripped off when just that showed up, a small card insert and some molded plastic, but what else was I expecting? The trigger themselves are made out of the same plastic as the triggers on the controller, and even retain the bumpy/coarse texture of the original buttons. This really makes them feel original, and not some bunged on 3rd party adapter. They also do not effect the travel of the button, with it remainings smooth on press down.

My favourite thing about these triggers, is that they make the controller feel bigger, more chunkier, and more forming to the hand. I always felt that the PS3 controller was too small when compared to the 360 controller, and I always preferred the latter, but with these triggers, it just makes the whole thing a lot more comfortable to hold, and play with.
When tested with games, such as MGO and Motorstorm, I had varying results. Motorstorm was a great improvement, with my finger conforming to the trigger, giving it a more natural feel, and with no risk of my finger slipping off. With MGO however, where they are just used to browse the inventory, it did slightly feel in the way, or that it slowed things down a bit. I could still access the menus, and select my required weapon, but it just felt a bit delayed.
Overall, I'd say that for the money, these were a worthwhile investment. They made some games all the more playable, and added to the whole feeling, however with others, they felt alien, and slowed down the action by just a fraction. Im going to stick with them, and I would recommend them, be it only to people who are experiencing a problem.
All I could find was this

They are included in an Armour kit for $10. Best I could find.
Unfortunately as i have only just got a ps3, i cannot say how good they are with other games. =D
