Snes aka best sytsem ever.
Sega Genesis. It was a hand-me-down from my cousin.
Also, just to give you a heads up, a bunch of people are going to come in here and tell you to post this in the forums.
lazy blogs are lazy
My Dad had an Atari and we played a lot of bomberman... well he played while I watched and played with my plastic army men, cowboys and Indians.
But that was my first system and it was awesome at the time.
I'm not part of the forums, but if they really think this post is useless I'll just hide it. I just wanted to see where everyone started.
The year was 1989 and I got my Gameboy for Christmas along with Super Mario Land!
SNES
Atari 2600, I had pac-man Moon patrol and missile command
Twas an x-mas gift
oh wait, scratch that. My first system was a cleicovision. I forgot about that damn thing.
forum posts go in forums.
When you post in the c-blogs, it quickly dashes away to the second page (aka off front-page, and therefore buried). This does not bode well for discussion topics such as these. In the forums, such posts as this (which, in fact, is a good post) can live longer than say...an hour or two and actually get a long discussion going. If it's good enough it might even get raised from the dead as a necropost, like the good ol' bashing everyone gave dprime back in February (still really damn funny).
So, forum posts go in forums.
...
[sigh] Alright, the Atari 2600 w/ Pong, Adventure, Combat, Atari Circus, etc.
A purple Gameboy Color with Pokemon Yellow.
It went through the wash >.<
my first system was 1977's Magnavox Odyssey 3000.
no carts, 4 games built in: Hockey, Tennis, Smash, and Practice. all of the games were just variations of Pong. i remember playing the shit out of that thing.
Atari 2600, with the 32 games in 1 cartridge.
"my" first system was the NES, but my brother had a Commodore 64 and one of the many iterations of the Atari. I used to have that sweet blue game gear.... but it died while I was in the middle of a sonic level.
Wow lots of you guys started in the 8-bit generation. I wish I had, but my parents were against me playing games for a long time.
NES and mario.
NES WOOT.
Coleco vision.
Huzzah.
Although I have played the brown box before, it wasn't until last year, so although it's the oldest, it wasn't the first.
I started out sneaking in hours of the Legend of Zelda (gold cartridge) on my brother Nintendo. Then my dad got us a SEGA and thats when I really started to play. Streets of Rage FTW!!!
