Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Even when I don’t agree with Yahtzee’s reviews, I always love watching them.
I didn't say that...nobody was expecting awesome multiplayer with Bioshock, so it didn't matter. But the Halo series has always been focused on the multiplayer, which this guy obviously didn't grasp. The campaigns has never been the highlight of the Halo series...so I'm not sure why he would expect it to be.
Bammo! Thesbo goes down.
haha you think they could sell teh Haloz without single player? Don't you remember what happened with Shadowrun? Disaster! Nobody wants to pay $60 for a few multiplayer maps. So they needed something for single player.
Apparently people use a lot of the other modes, especially the sucky ones! Game modes nad more extensive map editor?
Plus didn't they sell a Halo 2 multi-player map game disc thingy?
...
Sorry, I didn't say it was bad or anything...just that the series is more focused on the success and longevity of the muliplayer...which does include co-op of course.
I do realize multi-player is where the focus of the game is. I just wanted to state that I'm enjoying the single player aspect.
Anyway, yes, he's always funny. I just don't really go for his overly-critical manner, and no I'm not just saying this because he trashed my game. He just seems like one of those critics who wouldn't be satisfied if God himself opened up the heavens and handed him the perfect game.
If there weren't people who didn't care about mulutiplayer, they wouldn't have made the Core system and still have it around.
And if you saw other videos you know he has praised video games! Heck in the BioShock video he says that his positive reviews (Psychonauts) don't go over well and wasn't going to do a "positive" BioShock review. He found his niche.
So it sounds like he likes BioShock and really LOVES Psychonauts.
@Sharpless
I don't think he was talking about Halo multiplayer, i think he was talking about multiplayer in general.
Of course *looks around for JACK* this could possibly could be said about other games as well.
(Now JACK won't have to post something dumb)
...talking ONLY about Halo multiplayer...
Now, before you criticise him for being an uptight Halo fan, he's actually a really cool guy. He does realize that it was meant to be a funny review, above all. However, I agree with every point "narcogen" makes here. I don't mind Yahtzee disliking Halo. I do, however, mind that a lot of his points were invalid or illogical.
