It's been a long time since I have posted here at Destructoid (almost a year) so who knows if anybody is even going to read this but I figured I would follow up my Top 15 Games of All Time blog with my Top 10 Gaming Consoles. By the way, to those who commented saying they were pissed that I put Crono Cross on the list instead of Crono Trigger, I replayed Crono trigger a few months ago and I learned my lesson. Crono Trigger > Crono Cross

1) Playstation 1. The PS1 was kickass (obviously if it's number 1). It had so many classic titles such as Final Fantasy 7 - 9, Metal Gear Solid, and Resident Evil 1 - 3. This is only the very tip of the iceberg, there's way too many awesome games to name. Okay one more, Gran Turismo....and Castlevania: SoTN....and Medal of Honor. Some people might say the PS2 is better than the PS1 but I am saying no simply because a lot of the popular PS2 games got their start here. Without the PS1 and it's great success, I don't think the PS2 would have had as much success as it did. Plus my PS2 kept breaking. =[

2) Playstation 2. The PS2 gets the bump down to number 2 because I'm currently on my third PS2 but still my first PS1 (that thing was built to last!). Plus half of the PS2's functions don't work like playing DVDs. But I'm not saying it sucks, it made to number 2 for God's sake. There were so many great games on this console and the dualshock controller is probably one of the most comfortable and natural I've used.

3) Nintendo 64!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Goldeneye 007. Super Smash Brothers. Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Do I really need to say why I put this in the top 3? Well in that case Starfox, Turok, Perfect Dark...

4) Xbox 360. I'm a fan of the 360. The only downfall of the console is the reports that it breaks but I've never had a problem nor have people I know so that isn't enough to keep it out of the top 5 for me. With so many titles to play, a vast online universe in Xbox Live, and graphics that rival top of the line PCs, how can you not like the 360?

5) NES This is a classic system with a ton of great games. Even with it's outdated graphics, the NES still breaks the top 5.

6) Gamecube. I don't know why the Gamecube sucked so much in most peoples eyes or why it didn't sell well. I liked it's design, it was small and portable and the controllers felt really natural in your hands. It also has a lot of great games (if you like Nintendo games) like Super Smash Bros. Melee, Zelda games, and a whole list of good Mario ones. Top it off with some Resident Evil 4 and Killer 7 and this console is still fun.

7) Nintendo Wii. Why are people so down on the Wii? I guess they just don't like "kiddie" games or something. Never knew everybody was so hardcore (why don't they buy more 360's then?) The Wii is a great console if you like Nintendo games like Mario. They have a lot of family-orientated stuff but that's a good thing, not a bad thing. I've never played a game with my parents until I got a Wii.

8) SNES I could have probably interchanged this with the Wii's rank but gave the Wii the boost because of online abilities. There's really not a lot to say about the SNES because it was similar to the NES...only Super.

9) Xbox Good thing they made the controllers smaller because if they kept those hulks that they released with the console, this would never have made the list The Xbox's main fault to people was that it was so huge, but the Playstation 3 is bigger in every dimension and people love that so I don't know what they were talking about here. There weren't a lot of great games but the ones that were great were truly great. We're talking Knights of the Old Republic, Fable, and Halo.

10) Playstation 3. High penalties for it's cost. More penalties for a list of games about as good as the ones on Dreamcast. But nevermind that, we're supposed to look at it's "potential". I don't care about it's potential. Once it's realizes it's supposed potential, then maybe it will move up on the list. Until then, it rests at #10.
