There have been many different spin off’s and tie-in’s across all different media when it comes to Star Wars. From books, to comics, to video games, to TV shows and movies. Star Wars is without a doubt one of the most expanded and detailed universes know to any franchise.
Now a new novel set to be released October 27th takes Star Wars in a whole new direction; Horror. That’s right, a Star Wars horror novel...
I’m not against the idea, although it IS a bit “out there”. It could turn out very well, I’m not a big reader but this is definitely the kind of thing that would get my ass out the door and to the local WHSmith.
So far details on the plot are being kept quiet, although my moneys on Zombie Storm Troopers…
Jedi + Sith vs. Horde of undead Storm Troopers = WIN. (If this was a game it would be awesome; Bikini Zombie Slayers + Force Unleashed)

Have Lucas Film started taking it too far? Will you pick this up come Halloween?
I'd rather read THAT than any given Star Wars novel at the bookstore.
Seriously, I was in Barnes and Noble a while back and saw a section devoted to nothing but SW novels. There must have been 100 or more different fucking books! How do these people write this shit?
Also, you're from Wales... me too! :D
@Mikey - Glad to see some another Welsh Dtoider :D I added you to friends, but i hope we can become more, over time...lovers even..i love you Mikey :)
:O No waaaay!
I used to live in Port Talbot, studied IT in Margam College! I also used to work in The Wayside (before it changed to Academy) I live in Newport now! :D
Lightsaber dildos. Someone had to come up with that idea before this moment, don't you think?
That's actually nuts man, i hate the Academy BTW! £1 a pint on Friday nights, except it takes on hour to get served.
Also, you have mad skillz drawing, man.
like disabled stormtroopers with missing/robotic limbs. guys that once were top stormtroopers are now alcoholics and drug users because there disabled now after being sent to hoth and getting blasted in the spine by a blaster rifle from han solo.
Anyways, this looks like a Star Wars book in years that I might pick up. I'd want some more details, but I'm halfway sold just on the Star Wars with horror theme alone...
I got offered a job in Dyffryn! As an trainee IT technician! The world isn't just small... it's miniscule!
And yeah... Academy was rubbish. When it was The Wayside I used to rule that place.
Glad you like my work! :D
Though I haven't even scratched the surface of the extended SW universe, the handful of novels I didread were quite enjoyable. Like ZombiePlatypus noted, the "Tales" books (especially the Bounty Hunters) were always intriguing in how they intertwined with the plots from the trilogy.
Now, if only we could get a more mature, literally M-rated, Star Wars game (without any of Lucas's pandering to toddlers in hopes of addicting another generation while still in the cradle) then we probably wouldn't have seen such disappointments in games like Force Unleashed.
It had everything going for it except ridiculous design decisions. Lightsabers should dismember limbs.
There's so much potential for incredible things within the extended Star Wars universe, yet it's almost consistently overlooked in favor of more childish themes.
Hides his fanboy Star Wars shirt.
