Xbox FNF: Raging Kombat

Rage Quits, we have all been there on both sides. Honestly, playing a long game where you and your teamates are getting decimated is pretty demorilizing. Then on the flip side, pounding your enemies in the ground and finishing a match in record time is followed by a good huehuehueh. In a fighting game though, it is one on one. When one person quits, the match is over. So, how do you balance the rage quitters? Do you put them in a pool with other rage quitters? Make them loose XP, Rank or in game currency? Well, Mortal Kombat X is trying a new approach. Glorify the winner with a Quitality. While it may not stop rage quitters, it is a new approach that is pretty funny. If you had a say on what penalties would be put against rage quitters, what would you do? Personally, I would have the rage quitter have a slower building EX bar so they have to work even harder for their next win.

Xbox FNF: Stabby McFriday

So Friday the 13th, huh?  Yeah.  That's a thing.  And yes, I'm aware the day has nothing to do with the movie but it's still fun to always bring it up.  Between Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street, I've always been more partial to Nightmare on Elm Street.  To me there is something more freaky about someone invading and killing in dreams than just mindless stalking and stabbing.

But anyway, this is a short post for today.  Have fun gaming!

Xbox FNF: Reunion Tour

Hey guys, I'm not sure if you have realized that a great game series is coming back to life. What? Which one? Are you... you better not be pulling my leg. Rock Band is back. ROCK BAND IS BACK. WOOOOOOOOOO! You have no idea how big my grin was this afternoon when I woke up and checked my feed. People knew how excited I would be and let me know that this year is destined to rock. That's not all though folks! They are carrying over over two thousand songs from the current DLC listing. There is no exact word on what is going to make the cut but I believe it's safe to say that if you bought any Rock Band DLC, a large chunk of them will make the transition. Between Rock Band 4, Metal Gear Solid V, Mortal Kombat X and Batman: Arkham Knight, this year is shaping up to be an amazing one.

Xbox FNF: 32 Candles

I'm not usually one to brag or call out attention about my birthday, however, seeing as my birthday falls on my week and day for the Xbox post y'all are just going to have to deal with it!  So as the title implies, I'm 32 today and as y'all can see, I got everything I wanted for my birthday from Destructoid: Mr. Andy Dixon in a dress, taking the place of Molly Ringwald.  My wish already came true. *outro 80's music*

In other birthday news, Destructoid's nine year birthday is coming up!  Head over to this thread in the forums to see what we have to do get the awesome 9 year badge.  So far, there have been a lot of good posts and shout-outs to the community.

In Xbox FNF news, I'm glad to see that Monk is back and getting back into the swing of things.  We also have a lot of games being hosted tonight and *may* have Gears of War 3 Horde mode being hosted tonight but I haven't heard if it is official yet.  And, like always, if you didn't make it down to the forums to post what you want to host, let me know in the comments.

Stay safe and have fun tonight!

Xbox FNF: Winter Storm Blues

Just as it seemed like everything was starting to get back to normal winter storm is moving in this evening. The news have been talking about the second wave storm named Pandora. While it sucks that people have had to live without power for an extended amount of time, I love how everything has looked. Everything covered in a thick layer of ice that glistens in the sun. It sucks that the beautiful sceanery comes with such unfortunate events. Please be careful this week, by being bundled up inside and playing some games with some awesome people!

Xbox FNF: Fighting Night Delight

Well, it's that time of year again! That time of year of curling up under a warm blanket in the living room with the one you love. Having the lights off, setting the right tone of music to fit the mood and... let the smack talk fly! That's right, it's the Fight before Valentines Day! Join some of the community's best and have a blast

Also, this is my first FNF blog in over SIX MONTHS! Scield has done an amazing job these past months by himself but it it quite a bit to make sure you put out a post every week. So, as of now and for the forseeable future, I shall be contributing again. In before all the "Goddammit Monk" comments.

Xbox FNF: Call of Duty: Earth Defense Force

This'll be a short post for me today.  Why?  I have to paint a baby's room.  Y'all don't understand the hate and contempt I have for painting; but I only have three walls left and they're all the same color.  Then I'm done.

Want to host something and didn't make it into the forums?  Let me know in the comments and I'll update the post when I can throughout the day.  Have fun out there tonight!

As a side note, as I was looking for the header picture under "messy room painting" in search, results for hierophilia came up.  Oh the rabbit hole of internet wierdness...

Xbox FNF: Changing of the Guard

As some of you may or may not know, Bill "Chillybilly" Platt retired as the Community Playdate Manager.  He did a great job while he did it and I had a blast working with him.  He recrutied me into the FNF family so he was there to see my horrible first postings.  In fact, I had to call him the first time because the formatting and HTML was so messed up I didn't know how to fix it.  Thanks for all your work, Bill!

So who took his place?  Our very own Mike Martin, or better known as PhilKenSebben.  I've associated with Mike in the forums for a few years now and he is a great guy.  Interesting, in a good way, to say the least.  I look forward to working with him and seeing what happens with the FNF part of Destructoid.

Want to get to know your new Playdate Manager?  He'll be hosting some games tonight on the Xbox One.  He also created a Destructoid clan for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare so be sure to join that and play with other Dtoid members!  You can join in-game (I think) or though the Call of Duty companion app.

Good luck to both Bill and Mike!

Xbox FNF: PAX South and MAGFest

Busy weekend, huh?  Between MAGFest and PAX South, I'm sure there are a ton of people out there doing awesome things.  I wish I could head over to PAX South.  I'm originally from Texas and most of my family lives in New Braunfels, which is an hour outside of San Antonio.  That's my favorite part of Texas and it has so much to offer. If you're there, let me know and I'll recommend some good places to eat and places to go...except Schliterbahn.  I think it's a tad too cold for that.  Maybe one year I could weasel my way into a trip for PAX finally in the disguise of seeing family.

Anyway, have a good weekend with whatever you're doing and if you didn't make it to the forums to host anything, let me know in the comments and I'll add it!

Xbox FNF: Gone in 60 Seconds with Phil

Who doesn't love a good car movie?  I never saw the original Gone in 60 Seconds but I loved the one with Nic Cage.  Want to get that same feeling tonight?  Legendary Dtoider PhilKenSebben is going the FNF Triple Play: hosting a game on Xbox, Playstation and PC.  On the Xbox tonight, he'll be playing Forza Horizon 2.  I loved playing Forza 2 and 3 online back in the day, except the occasional troll that just tries to ram people off the course.  Phil told me he loves that.  Y'all should join run the course backwards.  I'm sure he'll be grateful.  Anyway, have a good weekend!

Xbox FNF: That's a Wrap

Well, that's it.  2014 is over.  Christmas is done and all the decorations and toys still on the shelves at the stores are being unceremoniously dumped to the clearance section so Valentine's Day junk can be sold.  The 2015 party hats are more than likely just thrown away instead of being sold.  Who is going to need a 2015 party hat after New Years?

Anyway, I hope 2014 was a good year for y'all, in gaming and in life.  I hope that 2015 is even better for y'all in the same two categories.  Batman Arkahm Night is coming out, Star Wars Battlefront (Maybe), Zelda U (Maybe), The Division (Maybe).  Obviously a lot of maybes.  But that's okay.

Anyway, have a good Friday Night Fight and a good 2015!
