About
Welcome to Dtoid's Friday Night Fights for Xbox 360!

FNF is a weekly, community-run event where Dtoiders get together to play videogames online! Planning starts in the forums, followed by posts here in the cblogs and on the front page on Fridays. It's easy to get involved, so why not start today?!

<-- You can read the blog for more info, but here are the basics:

How to FNF

To Play
• Leave a comment in the blog or forum post with your Gamertag and which games from the schedule you want to play. More people will show up if they know other people are playing, so speak up!

• Send an Xbox LIVE friend request to the person hosting the game and let them know you're from Dtoid and you're ready to FNF!

To Host
• Leave a comment in this blog or the week's forum post listing game you want to play, the time you want to play it, and your Xbox LIVE Gamertag.

• Don't worry about hosting the same game or hosting a game at the same time as someone else. Instead, think of it like a movie theater; more than one game can run at the same time!

Still confused? Click here for a full guide to everything FNF!

Over the past few weeks, Chillybilly and I have been getting in a picture battle of us grilling food.  He does hot dogs, I do chicken.  He does pork, I do strip steak.   Bottom line is, everything on the grill tastes better.  I watch a lot of home shows on HGTV with my wife and it really bothers me when people refer to grills as BBQ's.  Grilling and bar-b-que's are two completely different things. One is hardware to cook food (grill) and the other is a style of cooking (barbeque).  Bill doesn't do this but those of you reading now know the error of your ways.

In non-grilling gaming news, I bought the PS4 version of GTA V. I played it on the 360 and loved it but GTA Online never clicked with me.  Cool concept but all the trolls kept me from enjoying it.  But I finally got a chance to play the Hesit mode the other day and it was awesome.  If any of y'all have it on the PS4 I'd love to get a crew together.

I was thinking the other day about some of my favorite villains in gaming. There are many that come to mind such as Albert Wesker, Revolver Ocelot, Handsome Jack and more. Then, I tried to think of playable ones. There... really isn't too much there. The ones that are there are usually faceless people that just simply fit the role as the "bad guy" in a multiplayer game on one side. I mean, I was trying to think of a game where you were the central bad guy. Not some bad guy fighting off worse guys or a bad guy turned good. No, a bad guy out to get the hero of the story. There are RPGs that make you think that you are being a villain like Fable and Dragon Age but really, you are just being more of a dick than a ultimate baddie. Can you guys think of a role like that? I really can't seem to think of one unless it's some obscure game.

It's the season for Spring Break and this is the first year since my college and high school days that I'm actually taking off.  What am I doing? Panama City?  Daytona? Being featured in Gamers Gone Wild?  No. None of those but something way more wild: backyard camping, watching TV shows I've been meaning to watch, maybe finally playing games and a few kid friendly activities.   You see, I hate Spring Break.  Way too many (tourists/drunk college kids) people on the beaches, which are still freezing to begin with, loads of traffic and theme parks are jam packed and I-4 is backed up all the way to Gulf (not really).  It's just better to stay away from all that. I'm an exciting person who like to live on the edge, as you can tell.

Char Aznable (XBL: ShinigamiBV) was looking for some Horde mode players in Gears of War 3 so check him out to see if he's online and still needs people.  Other than that, it's a quiet week.  Have a good weekend and fun Spring Break, if you're young enough to have those or old enough to have vacation time to use.

Rage Quits, we have all been there on both sides. Honestly, playing a long game where you and your teamates are getting decimated is pretty demorilizing. Then on the flip side, pounding your enemies in the ground and finishing a match in record time is followed by a good huehuehueh. In a fighting game though, it is one on one. When one person quits, the match is over. So, how do you balance the rage quitters? Do you put them in a pool with other rage quitters? Make them loose XP, Rank or in game currency? Well, Mortal Kombat X is trying a new approach. Glorify the winner with a Quitality. While it may not stop rage quitters, it is a new approach that is pretty funny. If you had a say on what penalties would be put against rage quitters, what would you do? Personally, I would have the rage quitter have a slower building EX bar so they have to work even harder for their next win.

So Friday the 13th, huh?  Yeah.  That's a thing.  And yes, I'm aware the day has nothing to do with the movie but it's still fun to always bring it up.  Between Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street, I've always been more partial to Nightmare on Elm Street.  To me there is something more freaky about someone invading and killing in dreams than just mindless stalking and stabbing.

But anyway, this is a short post for today.  Have fun gaming!

Hey guys, I'm not sure if you have realized that a great game series is coming back to life. What? Which one? Are you... you better not be pulling my leg. Rock Band is back. ROCK BAND IS BACK. WOOOOOOOOOO! You have no idea how big my grin was this afternoon when I woke up and checked my feed. People knew how excited I would be and let me know that this year is destined to rock. That's not all though folks! They are carrying over over two thousand songs from the current DLC listing. There is no exact word on what is going to make the cut but I believe it's safe to say that if you bought any Rock Band DLC, a large chunk of them will make the transition. Between Rock Band 4, Metal Gear Solid V, Mortal Kombat X and Batman: Arkham Knight, this year is shaping up to be an amazing one.
