The results are finally in for our King of Fighters 98 tournament, held in honor of the King of Fighters Love Letter series. Match videos of the final bouts below. All in all it's been a fun ride and a lot of the contestants seem to have started taking a liking to King of Fighters games. I was going to only reveal the final match videos after sending everyone's prizes off, but with school starting up for me just now I'm sorry to say there will be some time before I can afford to send all of those off.
We have three videos to display, and I personally thought it was cool that every match had a different song playing. If any of you guys haven't been taking time to appreciate the music in this game start now. The finals where Senisan and Zoel fight for the championship in this Fatal Destructoid tournament and then the boss battle against me at what we'll be showcasing. If some of you don't remember the host of Fatal Destructoid doesn't actually fight in the tournament itself. The host trains all the contestants and tries to raise the competition. The final boss battle is held in honor of the fact that in King of Fighters games the boss always comes after the tournament. Zoel and Senisan were the predicted winners, but a lot of the contestants were getting closer to their level as the tournament went on. Squirrely and contestants like KD Alpha we hope to see again showed tons of improvement. Even our fresh players like Cleaning Guy and Mueti showed a lot of promise. When we move on to the KOF 2002 or Garou tournament here's hoping the competition gets hotter. The next video is a two parter of the final boss battle between myself and Senisan. I've been keeping the results of this match a secret. See for yourself who came up on top in the end: Oh, snap! Good matches were had by all and there you have it. The conclusion to Fatal Destructoid 98! Hope you guys all had fun. The King of Fighters Love Letter will continue to go on when I have the time to do so. As some of you know I've already remade the KOF 94 and 95 articles from scratch. The KOF 96 and 97 articles will receive the same sort of upgrades, but as they don't need anywhere near as much refinement they will simply be edited. Keep your eyes out for the fancier versions of those articles. After that we'll move on to King of Fighters 99 and cover the NESTS Chronicles as SNK likes to call them. While the Orochi Saga was symbolic of the rise and peak of SNK, unfortunately this will mark their decline and near death. It's this period of time that I attribute a lot of SNK's problems to, but the games they produced before their bankruptcy were still of great quality. I'll be doing my best to show why the lesser played games like KOF 99 and 2000 still deserve to be appreciated. Stay tuned until then.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

Granted, my team doesn't complement each other and most rounds end up being button-mashing as I furiously attempt (and fail) to use each fighter's moves, it would've been over short. Every time I try to use a move the motions don't register and it just fails.
Could've been fun though.
I miiiight join in on the Garou tourney if I can bother learning that game. (played it like once before)
if someone were to make a Street Fighter tournament though (any iteration), I would sign up right away.
good shit though, people!
PM'ed!
