So after all this review controversy (for the record, AC2 and FF13 deserve better scores) and after reading Jim's post about being a reviewer I got to thinking... what games would I be called a troll for if I had to review them? The most recent that comes to mind is Dragonage Origins. I never really read much about the game but I kept hearing how good it was from everyone so I got it for the PC. I had looked at some of the screenshots and got a little excited thinking it was going to be an oblivion type game... boy was I wrong!

So I start playing and when I am first talking to my dad in the beginning I am thinking "Oh, this is kinda cool all the different conversation options." I was taking my time to read all the options and try and pick what I would say in real life. That lasted for about 10-15 minutes until I realized that pretty much every character had a huge conversation and I really just stopped caring what everyone had to say. The main part that came to mind was in the beginning when I was talking to my brother with his wife and kid. My brother starts talking about how hes going off to war and asking if i was gonna take care of his kid or something and then the little kid starts talking to you I mean who really cares? Is what I say to this little kid going to change any part of the game? I highly doubt it. I found myself just quickly clicking the first answer in every convo trying to get to some actual gameplay (which I didn't like at all btw.) It just seems really pointless to me to have meaningful conversations with these virtual people in a game where the outcome is more or less fixed no matter what you say. Now just as a disclaimer, I only played about an hour of this game and to be fair I am sure later on your choices in conversation actually do have SOME sort of outcome but from what I saw none of it really mattered. Take this one for example:



Why does it matter what one you pick? They are all no! Just pick one and get it over with! It's so pointless!

So in short I really did not like this game at all even though everyone else lost their shit over it. I am pretty sure I would have gotten lots of angry messages and the like just like Jim does with every one of his reviews. What games would you have gotten hate messages over if you had reviewed them?

p.s. I also hated mass effect.. just too lazy to bitch about that one too.
