You know things aren't looking good when it takes phone calls to 5 different stores before you can even find a copy of a game, and on three of those calls the clerks haven't even heard of what you're talking about.
It bums me out that good games like this are so often lost in the shuffle of big name frag-fests. Don't get me wrong, I picked up The Orange Box and Bioshock and I loved them both, but sometimes these smaller games are just as enjoyable but no one seems to pay much attention. Psychonauts comes to mind. One of the best games around the year that it came out but it sold, what, like 8 copies worldwide.
Anyway, the point is, if you like great art direction, really amusing and fun puzzle solving and haven't touched your Wii since Metroid or Zelda, you should go out and pick up Zack and Wiki.
I've always been an advocate of "voting with my money" when it comes to consumerism. I try to shop at stores that are doing good things, or sell superior product even it costs me a little more. The same holds true in gaming. I try to make a point of going out and picking up games that are well designed, original, and maybe aren't going to get the kind of press that a Halo, or a Halflife is going to get, becuase those are the games that really need the support. Or we're just going to end up with 865 run-and-gun shooters every year because it's the only thing companies will feel is "safe" to make.

I understand what you mean though. It sucks when you're excited for a game, and "mainstream" stores and people look at you like you're selling fart monkeys.
isn't perhaps?
"You know things aren't looking good when it takes phone calls to 5 different stores before you can even find a copy of a game"
That's probably because Capcom wasn't willing to ship a lot of copies for a game in an unproven series. The number of units shipped could raise if it becomes successful, otherwise expect "Zack and Wiki" to be hard to find.
I was talking about those outside the dtoid community. More a comment on the state of affairs out there in the mass market than those here.
@Varaible Gear
I can understand Capcom paying it safe and only putting a few copies in store's hands. Bring out a new IP is always a risk because at times it feels if you don't have a 2 or 3 or 384 after the title you're basically screwed (another sad state). My hope is that they'll push a few more copies out if they learn that those 1 or 2 copies that were initially sent sold right away. I'm not holding my breath though.
@everyoneelse
I'm glad others have been able to get their hands on this one. The more the better.
Like any xmas, there's so much other games on gamers minds. The real criminal thing is that many gamers will still say there aren't any Wii games worth getting, yet Zack and Wiki is clearly worthy of their money. Next to Mario Galaxy, its truly worthy.
Once I get a Wii, I'll invest in Z+W and Galaxy. Good to see Dtoiders doing the same and supporting Capcom, when they make a true effort with Wii, where many that lack creativity and passion, shudder at the thought.
It's the most fun i'm having since MP3
