GH3 final song a HUGE disappointment!

Joystiq has posted a story about the final song of Guitar Hero 3. It looks like Devil Came Down to Georgia (as made famous by The Charlie Daniel's Band) is the winner. They've also posted a link to an mp3 of the track itself. This fiddle-less, pseudo-metal version is about the worst thing that has ever happened to music. I think I even threw up a little bit when i was listening to it. About all I can say in the game's defense now is thank-f**cking-god that "Through The Fire and Flames" is in the mix. As a matter of fact, if not for that I would have to pass on GH3 completely just because of the shitasticness of their final tune.

Way to jump the gun and say you hate something before you've even tried it.

I think the video Grim linked looks pretty good to me. I don't know why people gotta jump all over things like 'ITZ GUNA SUK!! LYK OMG!!ONE!'.

It's like saying I don't wanna play through a mario game cause bowser isn't the last boss, or something, ya know? the developers can't accomidate to your every whim. if you don't wanna play the song, then don't play it. simple as that, I know your just talking about the one song and all, but don't completely disregard the entire game because of it..that's all I'm saying.

and with that being said, I'm pretty stoked for this game, and, this song.

Fair enough, discounting the game because of the final song may be a bit of an exaggeration (as I stated, I'll probably still get the game). However, with the ridiculous number of amazing guitar songs out there (remakes or originals) putting up what I think is a terrible version of an awesome song originally meant for a completely different instrument is just a tad lame.

And my apologies for the joystiq links. Though, I'm not exactly sure what the deal is there. Perhaps I'm not l33t enough anymore.

true, true, and there maybe a 100 songs better than this, but if none of artists of the songs (or the record label) want to license theyre songs for the game, then they're stuck with having to work with what they can get. I'm not saying that this cover band did justice to this song (because they always seem to mess it up somehow), but at least give it a chance..get your achievements if your a 360 gamer, lol, and don't play it more than you have to.

I didn't mean to come on here and hate or anything either, so don't take that kind of vibe from it..lol.

What the hell is it with the elitest crap about joystiq. Yeah, they're owned by a lame conglomerate, yeah they think they're pithy and insightful but miss the mark, but they put out gaming news. Sure it can be found elsewhere, but if I see something there I'm not going to around looking for the exact same story on some other site just to please some infantile need to be a purest. I'm perfectly capable of seeing a piece of news on a site that's otherwise lame, and separating the information from the BS.

I read dtoid everyday, they didn't post the song clip (that I saw), it was the song clip that I wanted to comment on, so I posted a link to it. I might have been a bit over-the-top in my commentary, but hey, it was one of those mornings.

My understanding of dtoid was that it was an open and welcoming community of people who like videogames. But apparently if you read more than just dtoid for gaming news you get a bunch of crap. Not cool.
