Wii U Friday Night Fights + "Nintendo FNF" change

So, this week Dtoider ArchdukeFerdinand suggested that because the Wii U doesn't have a lot of popular online games yet, that we should roll the Nintendo FNFs into one, creating one unified thingamajig for Nintendo games. I think it's a splendid idea, and it will be easier to keep track of things this way. So, starting next week, the Wii, 3DS, and Wii U Friday Night Fights will all fall under one banner. If you fine folks have any suggestions for games that should be hosted, or want to host yourself, let us know.

I'll almost certainly be bringing back Goldeneye 007 on the Wii. Mariokart Wii was a popular one; SSB Brawl, Tatsunoko VS Capcom, etc. Possibly The Last Story if that's a thing people want.
For the 3DS, Mariokart 7, Kid Icarus Uprising, and I've been eyeing the new ATV Wild Ride 3D. as it has online Multiplayer. Hopefully Luigi's Masion: Dark Moon will be in rotation once it comes out.
Wii U, we'll see. I need some suggestions or hosts before Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate comes out.

Like I said, suggestions and hosts are very welcome. even today. I will most likely be hosting something for Weekend Warriors to get the ball rolling. See you for sure next week!

OH, AND OUR CONTEST IS STILL GOING ON. DETAILS BELOW ON HOW TO WIN AWESOME GAMES. THANK YOU, CKARASU!

So anyone with Sonic & All-stars Racing Transformed. or a Wii U and a way to rent games, should be participating. That's some good stuff!

Wii U Friday Night Fights 02/22/13 + Contest!

Good Friday, y'all. This week saw some pretty interesting gaming news; specifically, we all got to see what Sony is doing with the PS4. It's pretty good stuff thus far. Good-looking games, neat social features, a ton of delicious RAM, etc. Lots of unanswered questions, for sure, but a good first showing, I think. *Obligatory Vita/PS4-Wii U comparison*

For those of you with a Wii U, there was a new demo for one of the bigger games coming in the immediate future: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. I have to say, it's pretty much impossible to encapsulate all of what MH is about within a demo, but it's okay. It lets you use 8 different weapons between 2 shortened quests. It's a good way to get a feel of the combat, and shows you that is isn't just a hack n' slash game. There's no multiplayer in the demo, unfortunately, but it will be in the FNF rotation when it comes out.
So I say, to all potential monster hunters, use this demo to practice and learn as much as you can before the game comes out. If you need to, look up some videos & strategies. Be patient, and please, keep an open mind. It's not your average game. It's different, and I'm grateful for it.

*Before the usual stuff, I'd like to announce that Dtoider Ckarasu is holding a contest. He's hosting Sonic & All-stars Racing Transformed. and if he gets enough people to join, he'll give away a mystery Wii game. (All Wii games are playable on Wii U, of course) He assures me it's not a lame game. So if you have S&ASRT, be sure to join in for a bit.*

Wii U Friday Night Fights: Scrambling for a Host Edition

Friday Night Fights comes back to Wii U yet again! Last week, we posted a question that didn't get answered, so we might as well ask it again: What game would Wii U owners want to see for FNF? Something you folks already own? Something new? As it stands, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate looks like it will be the big one. So what should we play until then?

And a more important question: Will Pokemon Scramble U have online?!?!?!?!?

Wii U Friday Night Fights: Question For Wii U Owners Edition

Welcome to another Wii U Friday Night Fights! A.K.A. the most consistent FNF in the whole Dtoid community. I know it's partially the library, but I think a couple of hosts could keep things going better until say, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate comes out. Hopefully I can remedy this myself before too long. What would be a game you all would like to see, or that you have and want more people to play with? Let us know in the comments.

I'll be hosting Trine 2 again so something is on the schedule. Also, it's pretty damn good. It actually got a patch last week that tweaked some stuff, as well as added voice chat! Consider it if you don't already have it, Wii U owners.

Wii U Friday Night Fights: Megaton Edition

This week was a pretty exciting one if you're a Nintendo fan, what with all the games announced during the latest Nintendo Direct. There was old, new, sequels, remakes, crossovers, and fucking CROCHET YOSHI! Personally, I think Monolith Soft got me most excited, because we actually saw what they had. And boy, was it glorious. Xenoblade was absolutely fantastic, and the new game seems like an expansion on the same ideas. I'm all for new ideas expanding the JRPG umbrella.

Oh Wind Waker is getting remade or something. That's kinda cool, I guess. :P If they can fix all the little problems it had, it could actually be even better. How crazy would that be?
Not sold on a Wii U yet? There's always E3. All hail Retro

For those of you who do have one, we should play some games together. Today or even during the weekend if you're out & about tonight.

Wii U Friday Night Fights: Playing with the Big Boys

Well, well, well.... what do we have here?

It looks to me like we have our very first Nintendo Wii U Friday Night Fights, that's what!

Hopefully this will be an ongoing thing, with Nintendo finally embracing the HD age as well as actually having a pretty great online service this time around, there is no reason why we can't have a consistent flow of games and gamers hosting and playing games on the Wii U week in and week out.

I am definitely open to help in keeping this going, between this, the 360 FNF (which thankfully I have SuperMonk4Ever helping) and real life (work and stuff), I'm not sure that I can continue doing this week in and week out.

If you are at all interested in he;ping out on a weekly to bi-weekly basis (I think I may already have someone.... I'm looking at your, Smurfee..), let me know in the comments below.

Now let's not waste any more time here, let's get to the real reason why you stopped by (other than the "OMG WTF" reaction I bet most of your had)..

That's right, I'm talking about the games...all two of them!

(p.s. The banner up top is temporary, I threw it together last minute last night just to have something)
