So been playing it for five hours or so now (PS2 version).
Beat the co-op career mode. It's kind of weird, it uses a different order of songs as the main game, along with a different "story", and has only 6 sets, with the encores being unique to this mode. Soooo... you're going to have to play through it to unlock a few songs I think (Reptillia is great).
The audio in the co-op mode is kind of messed up. Volume levels are inconsistent and some songs have parts almost totally inaudible. Makes me miss the Harmonix audio team. The single player doesn't seem to have these issues.
Johnny Rotten sucks and the rerecording sounds like bad karaoke.
Grunge will never be good in a guitar game. Maybe when they come out with Suicide Hero.
A lot of the 2006/2007 songs are surprisingly fun to play.
A lot of other songs are really sparse and boring.
The little quotes on loading songs are really unfunny.
A lot of Star Power sections seem obnoxiously long, when they don't give you any more than a short one.
The little circles on your fret board are really ugly. But at least they're still circles.
Hammer-ons and pull-offs have been made so insanely forgiving, you can near randomly mash on the general keys you are supposed to be hitting, and you will often nail a solo. While this does let me play a lot easier, it's kind of silly.
My Name Is Jonas is my favourite easy song ever.
I haven't actually played any of the bonus tracks, but from what I heard when purchasing them, a lot of them sound really good. Also very international.
I played the first couple battle songs. They are fucking stupid and they are a terrible idea.
The animations for characters are probably worse than the first game. And most of them look more retarded than ever as well. Especially Johnny Napalm. Also they took out Clive Winston, which is lame.
Stevie Ray is epic, even if it's still a cover.
There are a lot of cool custom guitars to unlock. There is also an Axe Body Spray guitar.
Make sure to buy the alternate outfits for the robot.
I just got it at a Best Buy in NoHo that was doing a midnight launch. I’d post my impressions in this space, but I’ve finally been compelled to start my clog, and that’ll be part of my first post.
I'm picking this game up in about 4 hours (360 version).
It's a little disheartening to hear some of the complaints, but it's Neversoft for Christ's sake. They coulda fucked up a lot worse.

Cool, my kid brother is getting this tommorow. It's like his birthday all over again.

I totally loled at Suicide Hero.
