Sunday Night Nostalgic Fights are back! This time next Sunday we will be playing some tribes 2 online! And experience the wrath of old school multiplayer reborn! For those that took part in the HLDM shenanigans awhile back, this one will be much easier to setup, no custom models / weapons / maps to worry about. Just download the client & patch and install!

Since Vivendi shut down all the master servers for tribes 2 back in November, the wonderful lovable goons of something awful turned the tables on those who tried to slay the beast that is tribes. They created TribesNext.. and have brought a beat back to the heart of the beast. No longer needing cd-key, people can download Tribes2 full exe, and the tribes next patch for it from TribesNext.com and begin their adventure of chaos & artistic killing skills!

Once you launch the game all you will need to do is create an encrypted account and you are good to go! Then you can set up your controls, graphic settings, character setup, etc. DONT WORRY! I know the control layout seems intense as hell, they just give you alot of customization options, you dont need to config all of that stuff, basic stuff you need is jetpack, healing, zoom, movement, weapon binds (if you go that far). The other thing is REMEMBER WHAT THE INVENTORY BUTTON IS! This button will be your inventory setup for your armor sets - light armor, medium armor, etc. Each armor set can use specific weapons. .the heavier, the bigger the weapons ;). It's good to setup atleast 2 or 3 sets - one for each armor type. I mainly play a light class with the spinfuser (disk gun), laser rifle (snipes!) and shocklance (think jousting with lazer beams).

Once you get that set up you are good to go and you just go to join tab in the upper left and join a server. Most populated all of the time is called "Goon Haven" dont worry its not like average goon play, they all play like people should play tribes, no goonery there.. well.. not all the time :P. If you would like to have some time between now and next Sunday to practice and play, let me know and we can hop in a empty server and i'll show you the ropes.
