So, you can download the new Nintendo Channel from the Wii Shop. That's right, it's Nintend-Tube. Basically, you can view the people who make your games talk about making the games. It's like those features you completely ignore in the options or extras menu of a game.
We've seen something like this already from the folks at Microsoft; right from the dashboard, you can select from the news some videos that stream right to your console. Sure, they're not in beautiful 1080p HD, but they are nice if you want to see a few things about upcoming games (like an interview with a guy from OXM talking about some of the things he like about GTA IV before it came out), it does a decent job. And it's quick and controls just like a movie on DVD or something you downloaded via the Marketplace.
But this new Nintendo Channel, well, it's similar. It allows you to view the video in full-screen, which is very nice. But you'll definitely see that it's low-quality if you're using your Wii on an HD screen with the component cables. But, that's not a big deal. It has a nice search engine, unlike its Xbox counterpart. But, by far, the worst thing is that you'll be waiting... and waiting... and waiting for your video to load. And then, in mid-video, you'll need to wait again to watch it... and then again... and again. The Wii's servers just aren't fit to do this. It takes long enough to get to the Wii Shop let alone watching streaming videos.
