The only reason I even bother writing this is because IW went through the trouble of back tracking and erasing all their comments in this whole community screw up.

So I came home early Friday 6pm, figured heck I'll get that Gold AK. Two last weps to do MP44 which was at 34 headshots, now anyone that has ever used the MP44 knows how hard it is to get 150 headshots. Despite the little trick I found around the hundred mark, it took me hours. Then I work up the AK47 which isn't as bad, but nearly, since their handling is about the same, but at least with the AK47 the damage is higher and the fact that it has a red dot helps.

So I get off to send someone a message in game just for a brief moment and realize my rank just disappeared, my immediate thought after that is shit my headshots, yes they too were gone.

This all started Nov. 30th and continued the days to come. So as the swarming masses of pissed of PS3 fans hit the nets with their complaint late at night and early the next day. The community was hit with this:

I see a lot of posts along the lines of, "fix the problem" or "stop ignoring the problem", and I wanted to remind you all that this is not the case. The problems have already been addressed / fixed and are in the upcoming PS3 patch.

Regretfully it takes quite a long time for Patches to go through full testing here at Infinity Ward, at Activision and then at Sony as it goes through Certification.

There is no way to speed up this process, as testing is a very important part of the process. Whenever there is a change in the status or an update on when you can expect it, I will of course be here to let you know. However, at this time the patch is still going through that necessary testing / certification process.

I wish there was more we could do to speed it up for you guys, but we've already done what we could (fixed the problem in a patch) and now it's all up to those testing / certifying it.

As you can read fourzerotwo talks about a patch, however this patch was sent to Sony far before this issue came to light. Meaning the patch has nothing to do with what appeared to be a server side issue. The funniest thing is he says "stop ignoring the problem", then goes on to completely miss the point of hundreds of posts on the subject that are flooding in, basically meaning he ignored them.



Further on the issue came this "employee" or intern misses the issue:

"If you're so in need of more patches in faster time frames, get the PC copy. PC patches don't have to go through any certification. Otherwise the rants in the PS3 for the patches to be released fall on dead ears of people who just work on them and have little power on releasing them, should knock on Sony's door.

It's called a forum, open discussion, don't like it, though luck.
I added constructive info regarding their patch process and the way they do ETAs, really man, shape up your attitude and grow up. Same for Arcticgrunt, who also needs to get a brain and look what day I signed up to this forum and do some thinking on why my post count is high -- been with the community longer than some people obviously.

And if you're saying I need to own a PS3 to post here, you're sort of saying FourZeroTwo can't post here.

There is of course more to it than that simple quote and though PS3 people were getting out of hand, if you look at it from their point of view these guys may only have the little bit of time on the weekend to play these kinds of games. Either way the comment was a newbie mistake from a guy age 19.

So you see the whole situation got out of hand merely because not a single employee at IW plays the PS3 version, nor did they put much effort into understanding the problem. This blog is merely to save the events that happened rather than allow a company to dictate history by using the erase thread button.
