Also, I'd like to submit this. Not me, no homo, etc.
I'm a fairly introverted person, I can't even really go and speak to someone in a pub without being absolutely terrified, so the very concept of dressing up as a fantasy character, in public and then putting those pictures on the internet absolutely boggles my mind. Obviously cosplayers are more naturally extroverted but for what reason did you think 'I'm gonna dress up as Lara Croft' and what exactly do you get from doing this? (I know that sounds like I'm criticising but II'm not it's just genuine curiosity)
You are the same as me comrade. Maybe if I spent a fair amount of money and had a decent costume that covered my face (Like the Clone Commando one I want so much) then maybe I could do it. But my face would never be related to the costume in any way. That would kill me.

I'll throw myself into this fire. This is me last year in costume at work on Halloween as The Mighty Blue Justice. SPOON! And although I had a mask provided for me by Troma Studios, I did get to dress up as Toxie, The Toxic Avenger for a public appearance and DVD signing with Lloyd Kaufmann two years ago.

@Comrade: Honestly, that is hard to answer! I am a very extroverted person, that is for sure. I guess I am just one of those people who gets sick of reality uber fast. I always wish that my life was more like those in a comic or a video game, and I guess cosplaying takes that thought to the next level. It lets me escape being plain old Meagan and lets me be a kick ass chick or a super hero. From a artistic standpoint, the photography, modeling and costume design is fun too!!!
Me and some buddies of mine a few years ago dressed up as Jigen, Goemon and Lupin from Lupin the Third for halloween at school. Slickest outfits evar.
I always go to fancy dress as myself. I'm fucking fancy anyway.
Good stuff, despite my calling cosplayers strange I actually have nothing but admiration for you guys, if only for the sheer balls it must take to do it.
Also, BahamutZero has a awakened a long buried desire of mine to see a beautiful woman dressed as a giant insect. If you can find something like that for next week you will have my eternal gratitude.

read book 14, everytime vash uses angel arm he loses some of his blonde hiar (it turns black) untill he uses all his power and his hair is turned completly black.
