This weekend was a ton of fun! In-between a ton of work on my
Choco-mog sculpture I just blogged about, and other homework, I went to a Zombie Pub Crawl and to Fallcon (a Minnesota comic book convention). Here is how the weekend went!
I started off at the comic convention, FallCon, on Saturday around 1:00. It took me three hours to get ready in my Aphrodite IX costume, so it might not come to a surprise that I am retiring it now that I have worn it several times! The convention was awesome, even thought it was sweltering hot. It was hard for me to stay there for more than a few hours, and the friends who went with me, Ashley and Nick agreed. We looked around, shopped, and took some pictures next to the Batmobile and headed out. I was on a budget but ended up buying some heroclix, a Kabuki figure and a Valkyrie Profile figure I did not have.
The visit to the convention was extra special because I got to talk to an amazing artist about a project we will be collaborating on. I am not sure if I am allowed to talk about it yet, but I am excited!!!
After we got done with the convention we headed back to Ashley’s place to get ready for the Zombie Pub Crawl. Essentially, the ZPC is 300 or so people who dress up as zombies and run around downtown Minneapolis to drink. We got a large group together, and all headed out. Ashley and I were a little concerned as we opted not to dress as zombies, but as zombie hunters, Jill Valentine and Alice from the Resident Evil movies. Our costumes went over really well, more people broke character to tell us how cool it was that we dressed as zombie killers than those who went out of their way to “kill” us. I did have a few people bite me throughout the night. I managed to go the whole night without getting blood on my costume till a guy came and spit it on me about an hour before we left. Looking back it was funny because it made the costume more authentic…lol. The whole thing was a ton of fun as you will see from the pictures below. By the end of the night most of Washington Ave was covered in fake blood, and you could not tell who was stumbling because of being undead or having to much beer. Enough of the talking though, on to the pictures! Hope you enjoy!

Those zombies look really well done, and that million corpse march looks epic :)
