Left 4 Dead Delayed For Gears Of War

As you may have already heard, L4D Has been delayed two weeks. It is now coming out on the 18th for America, and the 21st for Europe. The official reason to coincide with the anniversary of the original Half-Life. The real reason... Gears of War 2. I found this on http://left4dead411.com/news/2008/08/correction-l4d-nov-18/ This news fills me with rage. H0w dar u d3ray mah ho7 ho7 14dz ac7i0n!

Why would they delay valves masterpiece for Gears of War. Gears of War is fun and all but it doesn't match the launch of Left 4 Dead. In my opinion Gears 2 looks like an expansion to the first game. It will be fun but it is nothing new. Were as L4D is something fresh, and innovative(If you know something else like l4d tell me now!) plus L4D is a Valve game which automatically means it is better then anything on Xbox. Not that I am a pcfag but why delay one of the most highly anticipated games of the year for Gears. At least let the PC game launch earlier plz?

Sorry this is more of me letting out my anger than anything. Gears will probably be great but I want my Left 4 Dead now. It is going to be so awesome there are zombies AND THEY RUN FAST AND THAT IS RELAVENT TO MAH INTRESTS!

I am upset and screw Gears 2 but no where on that page does it say Gears of War 2 is at fault. Do people even want that game?

Gears 2 will most likely be the biggest game this holiday season, with a huge marketing campaign. why try to fight all that noise?

Yeah, Mogg hit the nail on the head. I love Gears of War, and was really looking forward to this game too. But to be honest, there is no way in hell L4D will be able to fight the hype of Gears of War 2. It's going to be a great November.

As someone who wants to play this game very badly, I feel for you. However, if you really want the game to succeed, you can think of this as good news. The hype surrounding Gears will blow everything else out of the way, so now Left 4 Dead will have a bit of the spotlight for its own.

You have to realize that video games are a business. Although, to be honest, perhaps pushing it UP a week might have helped more. Still, the fact of the matter is this: Gears of War 2 will be the most popular game this year, hands fucking down. There is no fighting it; It's just that popular. People still play the original quite a bit on Live, 2 years later.

Sorry, but too bad. Go take an economics class and learn about how you make money.

That was the "official" reason, but really It's just a convenience. Putting a shooter up against Gears 2 would be a stupid move money wise.

I dont get the hype about GOW2 (or 1.5 as they called it).
But it angers me, probably Lfet4dead is way better, but assholes dominate sales charts, The Sims showed us that fact.

Left4Dead is already the better game. Even if GOW2 is twice as good as the first, it's still only half as good as anything Valve has ever made.

Valve has nothing to be scared of with GOW2. They just wanted a cool date for its release. Plus, they're assholes, and constant delays make you love them even more.

Excuse me while I go beat my girlfriend over the head with a shovel so she knows I still love her.
