Yes boys and girls, let’s try to get over my last post and get back to business (I got a lot of heat from my last post). I have been a bit busy, very busy actually, haven’t played anything in days… So I won’t go into something too complicated this time around. This is all about caffeine…
Yes, caffeine is a known substance, is like oil for people like me: it keeps us going. It keeps life easier and if you are a morning hater just like me then the more the better.
Let’s suppose that you don’t want to go with the heavy stuff like amphetamines (something I wrote about in the part 2 of this series). Is too complicated to get your hands on and you are sort of a pussy who just wants to drink something between matches in those FNF. You know, squeeze your brain for those great ATP molecules because you need to kill that bastard who is constantly spamming in your c-blog (always the same bastard… I know, don’t tell me about it you bastard, I know where you live).
You can find caffeine almost in everything nowadays. Let’s face it: tea, a coke, coffee, guarana (common in Brazil)… and in my country (Uruguay) people drinks something called “mate”, which has lots of caffeine.
But probably you don’t care about the costumes of a country which has 3.5 million people. I wouldn’t. I don’t drink mate, I stick to coffee because I love it. In the US energy drinks are more popular, I don’t know a lot about energy drink and I don’t get why you would drink it if you got a Starbucks (in Giant Bomb, they spend 15 minutes of a videogame podcast speaking about energy drinks… stupid).
But let’s try to explain what happens when you get yourself caffeine to your brain: it will increase the activity of dopamine neurotransmitter; also adrenaline (not cocks). This is kind of good because these substances will send your central pain threshold up, so it’s like an analgesic... not a very good one, but ok for the pain in your joints.
Very acute usage of caffeine increases the levels of serotonin that is involved in the mood (you know, serotonin reuptake inhibitors are drugs used in treating depression, so the more serotonin the better the general mood). This is cool, if you intoxicate with caffeine you won’t be a depressed idiot in the hospital wing… doctors hate intoxicated whining idiots… actually I hate whining idiots… ok, I hate idiots... and I know where you live!!
Back to caffeine.
Some drugs use caffeine as a vasodilator to increase the amount of oxygen and nutrient flow to the brain and muscles (like Theobromine). Other drugs will act as a positive ionotrope and chronotrope. A positive ionotrope is a substance that makes your heart pump better, a positive chronotrope will rise your ht (heart rate).
Let’s face it, an increased heart rate can cause some distal temblors (aka “I can’t keep my pulse steady”), which is not nice if you want precision with your fingers (mouse or controller). But maybe you prefer it over falling asleep and it does not happen in everyone anyway.
So yeah, you must know that this is a side effect of using too much caffeine (something close to 300mg a day can be too much). Some idiots inhalate crushed caffeine tablets (just like cocaine), so the effect is faster. The intoxication with caffeine is just like any other stimulant and I copy and past from other source: restlessness, nervousness, excitement, insomnia, flushing of the face, increased urination, gastrointestinal disturbance, muscle twitching, irritability, irregular or rapid heart beat, and psychomotor agitation. In cases of much larger overdoses mania, depression, lapses in judgment, disorientation, loss of social inhibition, delusions, hallucinations, psychosis and death may occur.
150 to 200 milligrams per kilogram, roughly 80 to 100 cups of coffee for an average adult taken within a limited time frame will kill you (heart failure). So there you go, suicide bot at your service.
Hope you enjoy this. I won’t include the disclaimer here because caffeine tablets are there for stupid idiots to abuse and I dont sell them. Rant about the dangers of caffeine would be like ranting about the dangers of video games.

Oh yeah protip; reduce your intake before exams so your chemical dependancy is reduced. That way when you start drinking it again immediately before you will get a much bigger effect off of a smaller amount and reduce the chance of overdosing
