CHANGE IS BAD!!!!
Fear the change.
Maybe they could change the auto play trailers for shitty online games, or maybe the fact you have to refresh 2 or 3 times to get the page to load up correctly.
I like to see more stuff at one time.
So personally, I would want to see 20 c-blogs in my sidebar.
Also, I would want the top whatever most recent articles, then more older articles listed at the bottom (more than the last 5/6 that are there now), which addresses that issues that Velt and I share of not seeing enough into the past at first look.

The trouble with showing multiple cblogs is that some people have animated gif avatars that are over half a meg, so loading the site is painfully slow. I could show 50 cblogs without avatars though but it would seem less personal, or limit avatars to small JPGs that we host locally. We are switching back to 20 though, the 10 was just an experiment to test speed.
@freetouch - we actually don't allow audio ads on the site. We use external networks to fill the ad space and sometimes an unscrupulous company sneaks one in. It can take days for our support emails to get through and get them banned which is why they aren't nuked right away. I can't stand those ads either!

What about limiting the avatars size to less than half... like keep it 128kb max. that's plenty fine for a gif?
Niero is working hard to redesign the site all of the time; you'll see subtle changes pop up here and there. A lot of the problems you mention are totally valid. Keep this kind of feedback coming.

A few days ago the site doesn't display properly for me, I'm using Firefox. The first 2 stories appear normal, then everything after that gets justified to the left. There's also nothing on the right side, all the Cblogs and stuff appear at the bottom, underneath all the news stories.
i like the way it works, just the having to refresh alot to load the site can be frustrating. Plus iexplorer which i have to endure at work hates this site.

Personally, I really dislike the new CBlog sidebar, as opposed to the old one. Not only that, whenever I click "View Last 10 CBlogs" in the mini-sidebar, it links to the CBlog homepage and the scrolling is terrible. Just my thoughts . . .
Is the site all out of whack for anyone else? Everything is....everywhere.
I liked the main link bar back when it changed the lower links depending which of the higher buttons you hovered over. So you could get to friends blogs straight from the main page.
