About Me
Iam a gammer from the harsh uruguayan jungle (we dont even have a jungle down here, too cold, go and do some wikipedia of Uruguay). I used to do a podcast in spanish about videogames at Radio LevelUp but I dont do it anymore... anyway those guys are there still making it so you can give it a try if you understand spanish
And i can say "aca aca aca" and i know how to pronoaunce it well since im a spanish speaker, so Im a superior race.
A couple of idiots may find funny that I dont have good english grammar, but again, they are probably idiots since they only speak/write one language...

Most of my time in the internet is because of games. I love videogames so much that i sleep with my girlfriend and my ds, at the same time... i call that a "threesome" and my humor doesnt get anything better than that.
Mostly im a PC gamer, i was going to buy a 360 but faulty crappy hardware told me not to since if it goes RRoD here I would have lost my money, and as a man Im entitled to the sweat of my brow. I want to fuck the Wii and I believe the PS3 is going to be the first console in space.

In the "real" life (come on, internet now is part of our lives anyway...), I study medicine (takes a lot of time and I cant spend enough of my time playing videogames). Is not what you would call a marriage made in heaven, if I wanted to game more I should have sutdy something related to pcs, but I grown surrounded by computers and stuff so I chose the bio stuff instead. Anyway, little time to play video games if you dont want my biographical shit.

And the main reasson I play games for the story behind them. I love well written stories like Half Life series, of course Portal (kind of a Valve fan). Other great games include World Of Warcraft (not currently playing, actually I was never hardcore, but I enjoyed the experience a lot), and of course the classics like System Shock 2. Other great titles had stuck with me over the years, classics adventure games like Monkey Island, Indiana Jones and Grim Fandango.

So, best game experiences:
Half Life 2 (and the original Half Life of course).
System Shock 2
Grim Fandango
Indiana Jones and the Fate Of Atlantis
Monkey Island

Assassin's Creed is not helping PC gaming
Velt | 11:22 PM on 01.23.2008 13 comments

Lets take a look at the amazingly huge and out of scale requirements for the upcoming Assassin's Creed for the PC.

Here is the full Assassin's Creed PC requirements:
# Processor: Dual core processor 2.6 GHz Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ or better recommended)
# RAM: 2 GB (3 GB recommended)
# Video Card: 256 MB DirectX 10.0?compliant video card or DirectX 9.0?compliant card with Shader Model 3.0 or higher (512 MB video card recommended) (see supported list)*
# Sound Card: DirectX 9.0 or 10.0 compliant sound card (5.1 sound card recommended)
# DirectX Version: DirectX 10.0 libraries (included on disc)
# DVD-ROM: DVD-ROM dual-layer drive
# Hard Drive Space: 12 GB
# Peripherals Supported: Keyboard, mouse, optional controller (Xbox 360 Controller for Windows recommended)

Supported Video Cards at Time of Release:
ATI RADEON X1300-1950 / HD 2000 / 3000 series
NVIDIA GeForce 6600-6800 / 7 / 8 / 9 series

Well, I got a keyboard and a mouse... Dont get me wrong, I like the tits of that girl behind this game, but this is not good for PC gamers like me.
Let's now compare this to Crysis, a game so ahead of his time that not even with a three way SLI nvidia they could manage to make it run up to it's best (really, I saw it at CES):

Recommended System Requirements for Crysis:
OS - Windows XP / Vista
Processor - Intel Core 2 DUO @ 2.2GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+
Memory - 2.0 GB RAM
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS/640 or similar

And those are recommended, take a look at the minium requirements.

And all of that for an average at best game.

And this is why I'm a console playing retard who gets made fun of so often by the superior PC gamers. I just don't have the money or the inclination to keep my PCs up to date enough to run most games. My laptop has pretty decent specs and it can run the Orange Box...that's it. Anything else, there is not a chance.

I proffer my games on the PC, but this is ridiculous. I squealed with joy when I found I could run Crysis on Med 800x600; but, this game looks like it might make my computer punch me in the balls for just loading it into the DVD tray.

That cat is awesome!

And I dunno, I guess it will depend on how different it is graphically and performance wise, who knows? Maybe everything will be put to good use.

So, Ubisoft isn't optimizing their game for PC very much? I'm pretty sure the 360 doesn't exactly pack the punch of an 8800GTS.

I guess it all depends if the game looks good on medium settings.

Yeah, this isn't helping PC gaming a hell of a whole lot, I can barely get by on Crysis as it is, but this is complete horseshit.

Trust me, this is because of Ubisoft. If it was a better company that optimized it, it would run on a Pentium 1.

I dont get it guys, when you release a product multiplataform you are supossed to get it to work in the PC on average requirements. Is just ridiculous.

Anyway, the cat is not mine. I just made a copy and paste of the picture, but it is awesome.
