Before the Wii came out everyone i know became excited for a really interactive gaming experience. When it came out i was the first of my friends to get it and all they did is bash how gay it is . Saying the Wii remote
is laggy the game that came out with the Wii "Red Steel" sucks
but they dont look at the facts.
1. Nintendo was going for a new gaming idea and they looked at all ages of gamers not just hardcore shoot em up gamers
2. Nintendo wanted a system that was freaking awsome and afordable at the same time
3. The 360 and PS3 were awsome no question there but the only reason people say the Wii sucked is because they had consoles like that to compete against.
Over all the Nintendo had a good idea making it easy to play for old and young. Example Christmas we brought the Wii over to my grandma's and we left for a while we came back and heard a baseball game on me and my brothers were pissed because we wanted to get lost in Wii Sports we go downstairs and find my Grandpa playing Wii sports Baseball Even though he had a hurt shoulder he found a way to play. What im saying is QUIT BASHING ON THE Wii ITS ALL I CAN AFFORD JACKASS'S
Miyamoto hates the people you know
I believe this were some of the early concepts, its been a while from these news, But the Wii was a last minute change, Nintendo knew they couldn't compete with next gen HD-war, so they changed completely and revamped the Revolution to the Wii, and to focus on their library of games and the concept of the Wii remote.
Now thats that said, they have focused on selling any sort of peripheral add on to help boost sales, not just games. Which is fine to me, if it wasn't for nintendo, could little kids still have a option to play innocent games or have old people coming out of their rocking chairs to cure their arthritis. Something neither the xbox or ps3 have for that audience, And of course the Ninty fanbase that will play any old school nes remake they can possibly can.
In no way I can imagine the xbox or ps3 compare their fanbase with nintendo, so it is all fair, unfortunately for me, I can't get into the Wii more than 20 min of play time.
Unlike other companies Nintendo will never do anything just because traditional gamers want them to. And since traditional gamers tend to also have internet access Nintendo bashing is a given.
I'm not a big wii fan, I don't hate it but nothing on it appeals to me.
I chalk the lineup as...
mini games- can be found on other consoles, and I don't like them to begin with
fps- the wiimote is terrible for them, and they are done better on other systems...
fighters- brawl is decent for off line play, but I much prefer technical fighters like vf5, which also have lag free online, AND voice chat.
racers, not much other than mario kart, but again done much better on other systems... gran turismo, project gotham, forza... all a million times better... AND WITH VOICE CHAT.
however I will commend Nintendo on its low price point, although I still think it is too high, if I did not own a console and had to choose between a wii and a ps2, I would get the ps2 hands down, the price, and games library are far supirior.
so like I said, I don't hate the wii, its just not what I want... at all. but if you're into minigames then go for it.
Those are some fanboy's concept shots. Nintendo's already shown off concept stuff they had for the Revolution and it was always intended to look the way it does.

Whatever. Learn to spell. Thing is, the wii is a great system, it's a great concept, and I think it has potential but no one but nintendo has bothered to release anything worthwhile for it. A glance down the Wii title list shows like 80% minigame selections or shit that would suck as a flash game. I'm probably going to sell off my Wii soon because i just have gotten tired of the thing. I buy 360 games out the wazoo because there's good content there and an incentive to dig into these games. The only compelling titles I've bought on my Wii were Zelda, Mario, and Zack & Wiki. Take that and I've got Rock Band, GHII, GTA4, Crackdown, Orange Box, and countless others that i've spent hours on per title. The Wii has just been an underwhelming disappointment in comparison. I was all over the thing until I realized that the only thing I was spending any time on were VC titles. I've got like 25 of them. They're a blast to play, but thats only getting me so far as justifying my purchase. Maybe I'll revisit the system closer to it's End of Life as Nintendo approaches a new console release. Maybe by then I'll have a wealth of titles to peruse through and I'll have something fun to occupy my time.
In your case, go get a job or save your allowance or something, and get a second console if you're gonna whine about it. Fer pete's sake... $300 is nothing nowadays if you have no other financial commitments.
is the 21st century equivalent to
I love the Wii Remote. It's so bad.
And yeah, the Wii is the most popular next gen console by a huge margin, so a lot of people hate and fear it.
No Wii hard drive, means no demos, textures and less development support = fail
Friend codes = fail
No ethernet connection port + the Wi-fi = fail
No voicechat = fail
With MS or Sony, most of these problems would be solved quickly. However, Nintendo are very good at taking their sweet ass time sorting such crap out. Nintendo should be more careful and less complacent. Being complacent and not adapting fast enough is Nintendo's worst enemy.
Nintendo I feel are run by too many jaded old fools, making decisions they have little knowledge about. When more young talent enters their higher ranks, things might change for the better.
Lack of support for developers is another sore point that lets other games get to 360 and PS3 first.
On a better note, the games are starting to get better on Wii at last. Many developers will end up with egg on the face.
As for Red Steel, the reason people hate on it is because the controls are pretty bad and nothing like what we were promised (for comparison, see Metroid Prime 3). And even if the game didn't control poorly, the game itself is horribly generic and nothing special in the crowded FPS genre.
The Wii certainly has potential, and I'm still happy to own one. I just wish it would live up to it.

Wi-Fi can be blessing or hell
Friend Codes
But if you haters are PS3 owners,a sk yourself this: What exclusives do you have to mention, hmm? Jack S@#%, that's what. At least we have Smash, Mario, Zelda, Etc.
PS I like XBOX 360.
Now, STFU!
