WTF Wednesday is a weekly look at those shining pillars of the gaming community - forum posts, gadgets, articles and personalities - that just make you wonder "What the fu...?"
---------
How the world has changed since I was a young lad. Growing up gaming in the 80s and 90s, some things were just taken as undisputed gospel. Mario and Sonic were bitter rivals. Games came on cartridges. Your mom called any video games in existence "Nintendo." Finally, video games were
not healthy. Now, in 2-aught-aught-8, Mario and Sonic do everything together, from footraces to beating up
FOXHOUND agents. Games come on fancy "discs" (with a C!) and moms everywhere talk about games as Play Stations. Even games like
Wii Fit are making gamers get up off the couch and do push ups.
Literally.
My friends, at least the folks at
Tesco are fighting to keep some things the same as in the good old days. At least they were a couple of years ago.
Unhappy with a world that forced gamers to dance using their feet, Tesco sold the pictured DDR pads for a while back in 2006. Although two are pictured above, you only need one - your other hand is used to dance the night away, preferably wearing tiny Hammer pants. Although my internet matlocking has yet to turn up any way to buy the controllers now, they can probably be found in finer game stores nationwide.
Tesco originally had them listed at 23 USD - £ 13 for our PodCastle friends!

But using it would take all the fun out of playing DDR.
