VP2 is also 40 bucks.. I will probably bite on both.
I have very mixed emotions
"Sure, its not straight up platforming again."
Yeah, because hitting A to make a bear jump is sooo different from hitting A to make a vehicle jump via a spring.
OH, and I guess those mini-games in the first titles (including:races, trivia questions, word puzzles, memory games, etc, etc) were "straight up platforming".
As far as the drop in price goes, that just means I'll be 300% more likely to purchase something I was already going to purchase anyway.
Maybe this universally ignorant reaction in misunderstanding the basic principles of platforming and gaming in general have them unsure as to the success of the title.
If you ask me, this drop in prices is the smartest thing any publisher could do for all of their titles, including anticipated ones.
I'd sure as hell spend more money on games if they were all significantly cheaper.
I think its a smart move, as parents will probably look at the price of the game, rather than finding out if its good, meaning it will sell well. And the more kids who play good games, the more people will become gamers later in life. Kinda like us, when we where young and grew up with quality games like Super Mario, Mega Man and Zelda for the NES.
I might actually be interested now. Smart move.
Arttemis, the mini-games were just that, mini parts of the game. And making a vehicle jump, or hell even controlling the vehicles isn't what I'm most looking forward too. It's MAKING the vehicles, experimenting, since building vehicles WRONG... well they actually let you use it anyway, and you see how messed up it is.
And I didn't know Viva Pinata 2 was 40 also... awesome stuff.
That price sounds about right for a title by Rare, which is at best a B-list developer these days.
