I'm an action junkie for the most part. If something isn't exploding at least every 13.7 seconds, I'm pissed. I'm re-discovering the power of PC gaming through Crysis, Far Cry, and Battlefield 2. I own all 3 major consoles, X-box 360, Wii, and Dreamcast. No but seriously, I got a PS3 too. Besides the PC gaming, I'm still playing a whole bunch of Vegas 2 and Halo 3, anxiously waiting for Grand Theft Auto 4.
I got myself a PSP and DS as well, though I rarely see the DS anymore (I blame Cooking Mama and my girl friend. Terrible combination.)
My all time favorite games though, changes all the time. I can never narrow it down cause I'll always remember a game from my past that totally kicked ass, and it just fucks my list. Right now though my list is like this:
1. Starcraft (PC)
2. Resident Evil 4 (GCN)
3. Megaman X (SNES)
4. Halo 3 (360)
5. Halo 2 (Xbox)
6. Street Fighter Anniversary Collection (Xbox)
7. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (PS2)
8. Earth Defense Force 2017 (360)
9. Twisted Metal 2 (PSX)
10. Super Mario World/Yoshi's Island (SNES) [tie]
Anyway, hopefully my blog is semi interesting to you guys. I occasionally do this:
Yeah, because hitting A to make a bear jump is sooo different from hitting A to make a vehicle jump via a spring.
OH, and I guess those mini-games in the first titles (including:races, trivia questions, word puzzles, memory games, etc, etc) were "straight up platforming".
As far as the drop in price goes, that just means I'll be 300% more likely to purchase something I was already going to purchase anyway.
Maybe this universally ignorant reaction in misunderstanding the basic principles of platforming and gaming in general have them unsure as to the success of the title.
I'd sure as hell spend more money on games if they were all significantly cheaper.
And I didn't know Viva Pinata 2 was 40 also... awesome stuff.
