Hello Destructoid!

My first post! Exciting! So I guess I should start things of by introducing me.
Tuxedose here and games are my passion. Now with the obvious out of the blue, I will go straight on point.

As most of you probably guessed by now... I am a gamer. I breathe games of all kinds. Mostly though I breath rpg´s of all kinds. You could say I have been playing rpg´s my whole life. The first roleplaying game that I played was Final Fantasy VI, or III, as that was what It was called when I was that young.
I remember that when I first played It I was amazed of everything in it. At that time I was already very decent in english, more decent than most of my Swedish classmates, so I had no problem understanding the story elements of the game. It was just pure awesomeness.

So now why did I mention Final Fantasy VI? Well simply because now I am playing it again! I am playing the GBA version and I must say it still rocks as much as it did back then. The thing that I first realized when firing up FF VI on my GBA was the translation. I am amazed to finally realize how bad the FF III translation was. I knew it was bad but not this bad. For me the GBA version translation opened up a whole new dimension in the storyline of FF VI. I finally can understand many of the plot elements that made no sense in the original translation.

But do you guys know what the saddest part of this is? Final Fantasy VII met the same translation fate. While it was not nearly as bad though, I cant imagine how epic the story would be in FF VII if Square Enix would retranslate the whole game. I mean only the fact that magic names are correctly translated is an legendary factor of over 9000! Shall we compare?

What sounds best:
Ice 1, Ice 2 , Ice 3 or Blizzard, Blizzara, Blizzaga

So my point with all this is that I would love to see a complete retranslation of Final Fantasy VII as well, so that at least the magic names will be pure awesome.

Thnx for reading
Tuxedose is out for now.
