Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Steve I am 15 but I just play. I don't yell and scream. Like the amjority of my age group.
if i find a little douchebag ruining my game i just mute him or i ignore him most of the time that works cuz they have no one talking to them so they cant make fun of anybody
Lots of people online bitch. It's what they do, it's what they will always do. The trick is, don't play with them. Gather your friends and the people you enjoy playing against. When someone annoys you mute them and make sure you're not matched with them again, unless you enjoy showing them their still beating heart before they die. I like that. Anyway, it's a whittling process, not an insta-win.
Oh, and @stevepheonix: I really want to agree with you! I really, really do! But I don't think the age is the problem. I've played Halo 3 against a team of 4 kids aged from about 12 to 15 and had a fantastic time! They were smack talking a bit but when I blew two of them up by shooting a barrel beside them, they actually took time out at the end of the game to say how awesome that was and chat about some of the other things that happened in the game! The ratings are guides to parents, not law enforcement. When I was young, from the age of 11 actually, I was polite, well spoken and watching vicious horror movies well past midnight. Yes, there is a tendancy for kids to be dicks online but I wouldn't punish all of them because of the dicks, even if they are in the majority. I know if I was a young player who enjoyed the game and didn't just swear in a pitch only dogs can hear properly, I'd be gutted at not being able to play.
Basically, what I'm saying is, it's up to us to vet the community. Take back the gaming world from the assholes and the smack-talkers! Mute them, make sure you don't get matched with them, leave them bad ratings. Praise the good! Friend them, recommend them and thank them for the fun!
Sorry!
In Halo, too.
Really, it is 12 year olds like yourself that ruin the experience, you and the population of Louisiana with names like "killallnigs"...
Still, 12 year olds aren't all the same. I hope.
Oh god, yes. This is why WoW lasted exactly three days on my HDD.
Playing w/ people you know > playing with 15-year-olds who are up past their bedtime.
With this in mind if you guys would like to add me to your friend list my GT is Electrobes. I'll be one of the hosts tomorrow for Friday Night Fights (Team Fortress 2 and Halo 3).
I haven't played much multiplayer on Rock Band, I I do have the game if this interest anyone.
What is with all the hate on being 15?
@Atlas they were two different instances.
Know its full of fucking knobendo's!!!!
