Apparently I'm a gamer -- hence being here. I've had the Donkey Kong theme stuck in my head since about 1995. It's not as cool as it sounds. It's kind of like hiccuping for that many years.
I'm pretty much a deadbeat Liberal Arts graduate from U of Illinois -- uhm Springfield campus. Started off as a computer science major and switched to English Literature. Why? Because I'm an idiot and I'm still looking for the job that made the switch worth the time and money. I did take a year of Elementary Japanese, so maybe I can BS a translation job. But only if I'm talking to school children. How insulting -- "your understanding of the language is that of a retarded kid!" So I guess that skill only comes in handy for catching one out of four words in any anime I watch and a good laugh when people mispronounce words.
Just finally in August joined the high-falooting "next-gen" with a purchase of the 60gb 360. I always said if a Tales game came to the 360, I'd finally buy the damn thing. Had to eat my words but I'm enjoying it so far.
Systems own: N64, Dreamcast, DS (x2), PSP (x2), 360 (finally), Wii, PS2, and a TG-16 (unfortunately not working)
Apparently I'm a huge Tales of fan -- hence getting the 360 for Vesperia and my Klarth avatar when I signed up. But Repede's too awesome to pass up.
Currently playing: Tales of Vesperia, Viva Pinata, Soul Calibur 4, Final Fantasy IV DS, Mana Khemia, Out of the Park Baseball 9, Sam and Max Season 2 (yeah finally got around to that), Downstream Paniac

Hmmm a water polo league would be awesome. Or just a water polo match at the next big NARP.
@ Blehman
I know what you mean. I didn't do one at all this year as my last keeper fell apart with every one moving away and just doing other things.
But I was in a football one and I eeked out two wins to start the season and promptly went 0-12 the rest of the way. No matter what I tried nothing worked to just get a win. I lost interest by week 8 or 9 I think.
I'll have to plan it out a bit more and probably will just after the draft on the 20-21st. I guess I should try the forums and see the interest there. It's an easier place to keep track of posts too.
@ Max
Same to you. I just might have to set up a forum post and use the PM system. Crap I don't think I've ever used a single PM since I got here.
My suggestion? Try the forums also, and whenever you get enough interest, pm the people who've expressed interest. BigPopa got a fantasy football league up and running in a few days. I know (sidenote: I don't really know, just think) there'll be enough of an interest to start this, and I really dig the community run events on this site.
So, tl;dr go for it.
I know the feeling. One year I missed the draft for an online baseball league and got an autoselected club. Set the line-up and never came back until the World Series.
Back in HS I use to sign up for too many leagues for every sport and I'd always forgot one or two...or three.
@ blehman
When I get back from Kansas City I'm going to try the forums and get back to everyone here.
@ GrayFox
One I tried a few years ago the guys in it got made because I only allowed weekly line-up changes instead of daily. Because I started with fantasy baseball I'm more use to weekly line-ups and I think it makes a lot of sense in hockey too. Obviously they didnt' see it the same way, but yeah it does take a bit of heavy management out of it.
Not sure what this league is going to be yet. I'd prefer weekly but I've been talked into daily before.
@ Stonethigh
Agreed -- it's always a blast as long as you get in with people that don't get too carried away with it. I know some people that its serious business like they're actually real GMs. They tend to kill the fun -- especially in baseball.
How do you guys feel about Mclellan moving on to the Sharks? He got an NHL job fairly quickly.
At least he's inheriting a better team in San Jose than Dave Lewis did in Boston.
I mean the track record is there with Swift Current and Houston (not really sure how he did with the IHL because I can't recall it) has been solid and now three years working with Detroit, one of the most professional organizations in the league. So I think he'll do alright, probably better than Wilson (who I've never been a fan of) did there and will do in Toronto. Just curious how the general Detroit fan feels about him.
The Atlanta coaching position should be interesting and the next one filled. I'm pulling for John Anderson, who I felt should have gotten it over Bob Hartley then. With this year's Calder Cup added to his resume -- but he's still considered too young. Which is bullocks -- look at Boudreau in Washington.
Sadly they'll probably go with Laviolette. I'm not trying to 'hate on' American coaches but I'm meh on him.
And yeah....I ramble more on hockey than video games.
