Players can elect to summon "cartoony" versions of bats, bombs, guns, and flamethrowers. These types of items can be used to destroy objects or even other summoned items (e.g., a club can be used to hit an animal; steak can be attached to a baby to attract lions; rockets can be lobbed at a man).

Tubaticisms 4-19-09: Birthday Edition (Updated!)
Tubatic | 1:05 AM on 04.19.2009 6 comments

No time for tubas. Thirty Tubaticism for so many years. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll feel a little awkward. This is as close as I'll get to a drunk blog guys. Enjoy!

1) Unstoppable Juggernaut left the day before my birthday. SOME PRESENT, MAN!

2) Michiyowhatever supposedly left because of a fighting game challenge. I think this is a fitting way to honorably banish people from a gaming website.

3) Obsessed doesn't quite describe my fascination with Rune Factory Frontier. All I know is I've got level 23 cooking and we're not done with the first Spring yet

4) [s]This isn't a big ticket birthday this year. Economy, gotta love it.[/s] It is a big ticket year! I got a Playstation 3!

5) For my last breakfast in my 20's, I had a huge breakfast at Cracker Barrel. I can't believe I ate the whole thing

6) I'm sorry, I just can't listen to Johnathan Ross in a podcast ever again. I'm sure he's a cool guy and all, but his voice DRIPS in pretentiousness. I'm just sayin' ...

Tubatic is 30? How can this be?

7) I really should own a copy of Street Fighter The Movie

8) I'm real excited about picking up Madden this year. I think I'm going to take some time and marathon a few seasons fro old times sake.

9) You know, I want a Wii Fit, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't use it long enough to feel good about having bought it.

10) Assassin's Creed II is going to be sexy. Day one buy.

11) I've never owned a full featured golf game, but I'm thinking about grabbing the new PGA game along with the motion plus. Such a sucker...

12) I used to play Dragon Realms on AOL! I had a bard that was pretty sick with a rapier. I also used to know Rivendale like the back of my hand.

13) Yeah, I'm getting into Desperate Housewives with my wife. Big whoop, wanna fight about it?

14) We're planning to hit Fo Go De Chow (sp?) today, which I hear is amazing.

15) What surprised me about Mirror's Edge was that even after playing through the story mode, is still a rush to be chased by helicopters and guys with guns. Such a good game.

I mean, seriously? 30 years old? lolWUT?!!

16) I know we all care too much about sales numbers. But can you blame us? When a good idea happens, and especially in these hard economic times, you want the things you enjoy to be justified.

17) I still haven't played Psychonauts. I'm sorry Tim Schaefer.

18) Sarcastic Gamer changed their podcast format. They're totally buying into the whole morning DJ skit thing. Its interesting, but I'm not sure if its genuine interesting or trainwreck interesting

19) Dyson Grigsby is not his name. World = rocked.

20) HAWP from a production value and detail point of view is really quite amazing. Its too bad it gets dogged on GameTrailers like it does

21) I really hope Big Huge Games gets bought by someone. Selfishly, I'd like to have as many options as possible to have a long career in QA while staying in Maryland. Good Luck guys!

22) On the same sentiment, I really hope Damnation, developed by Blue Omega (in Annapolis, in walking distance of my workplace!) blows everybody away. It looks good, but I'll bet comparisons to Dark Void, spiritually, will probably be inevitable. And Dark Void is going to be awesome.

23) Dear Borderlands, its cel-shading and its very pretty. Own it, won't you?

24) I miss the depth of PC games, and I wish at least the underlying complexity of early 90's gaming would find its way back to current gen console gaming.

25) On the ever growing list of things I'd want do with if I had the time, attention span and workspace, I'd like to DIY my own PC gaming rig. My dad once made a black and white TV, tubes, wiring, the whole thing from a tinkerer kit. That was awesome, and an experience I could probably only emulate by making my own computer.

Even George Clooney doesn't believe it!

26) Turning 30 has forced me to look back at the last 10 years and wonder what happened. Life happened, and I've probably worked far more than I ever should have, for far less than I ever needed to. Save for pulling back into moderation, I can't ever see myself not playing games anymore because I "grew out of them", like some of even my younger friends. The moment you concede to some construct of serious adulthood is the moment you start to lose yourself. Rufio! Rufio!

27) Sometimes I wish I could live the dream and devote 100% to Destructoid. I think I've backed off more because I get so wrapped up in waxing psuedo-intellectual on games, that I lose track of those important real-world things. Rock bottom, I hit it.

28) I'd really like to learn something tangibly valuable. Playing tuba and testing the video games are all well and good, but I'd like to have a tangible body of work I can look back on when I'm 40.

29) Punch-Out for Wii looks great. Fight Night round 4 looks intense!

30) I'm not as young as I used to be. Its time to go to bed.

How 'bout it Destructoid? WHERE'S MAH BIRTHDAY WELL WISHES, BISHES!?!

UPDATED! - WHOA! My wonderful wife, thrifty saver that she is, got me a PS3! I can now experience the full spectrum of the current gen! I've got Drake's Fortune, Killzone 2 (I actually don't suck that much at this game..), LittleBigPlanet and MGS4 (Which I think I'm going to save for a day/week off in the near future.)

PSN: Tubatic. Add me!

Happy Birthday quality community member!

Really though I lolled at this one - 13) Yeah, I'm getting into Desperate Housewives with my wife. Big whoop, wanna fight about it?

Doing the same with my wife. What's really funny (and video game related!) is that the new M. Bison is the antagonist of this season, and sci-fi alum Nathan Fillion starred in the last season!

Johnathan Ross does sound pretentious, but he's really not that bad as he sounds, lol

Damnation is going to suck btw

Happy belated birthday, man! That was a good read, and an interesting choice of pics (I see an odd cat-boobs-cat-boobs pattern).

I hope that you can find the right balance between gaming and the boring ass real world. RUFIO!
