No Spoilers from me.
After a night and morning of playing, I'm on the last Chapter. Yep, its really
that short (or I'm just that good, eh?). But, its been an amazing experience so
far, and truly, this game contains some of the most exciting moments I've ever
had in gaming. The story has been decent enough, and death by falling still
hasn't quite lost its ability to make me wince and look away. Its worth at $60
is admittedly arguable, but I'm very glad that I've played it.
These are things that I have thought or said while playing Mirror's Edge:
"Holy Shit. That was awesome." - At theend of the first Chapter
"Ah, standard sexual tension . . . "
" . . . wait, is THAT sexual tension?"
"Ha! You get an achievement for flipping the bird!"
"Screw it, I'm shooting him." - About three chapters in.
"Fuck!" - Many times, while falling to death
"Oh Shit, I can slide AND shoot!"
"I don't ever want that much detail on anyone's face ever again."
"This must be what Mega Man sees." - While sliding and jumping
"Its Battletoads!"
"There's got to be an easier way to, oh there it is."
"This is kinda like Portal, isn't it?" - On the 8th Chapter
"Oh look! Pedestrians!? Nice touch!"
"Well, maybe that wasn't sexual tension . . ."
"Wait, all I need to do is get to the bottom . . . and here I am using the stairs like a sucker!"
"There certainly are a bunch of rats in this city . . ."
I'm on chapter 7 right now, only about 3-4 hours in. It's really short, but the game is phenomenal. I love the running and jumping with ease. The flow is tremendous and I haven't really gotten stuck much, if at all.
If nothing else, this game is a must have for anyone that wants to boast about how sweet their media center is. Mine most certainly is NOT all that sweet, but it looks stunning in HD on just my small "1080i" 19inch.
Also, its such an incredible game. I don't see it as short, it took about as long for me to get through as Halo 3.
