Players can elect to summon "cartoony" versions of bats, bombs, guns, and flamethrowers. These types of items can be used to destroy objects or even other summoned items (e.g., a club can be used to hit an animal; steak can be attached to a baby to attract lions; rockets can be lobbed at a man).

The Pregnancy Pact: Video Game Related?
Tubatic | 9:14 AM on 06.20.2008 19 comments

So it turns out a group of 17 teenage girls made a pact to become pregnant and raise their children together. And they kept their pact. And one scored with a homeless dude.

MSNBC Article here

The article points the blaming finger toward Juno and Jamie-Lynn Spears and their glorification of spawning.

But we all know who the real culprits are: Video Games.

Spore, Viva Pinata, PokeMon and things like this:

Breeding is promoted and encouraged in all of these games. Its clearly had an effect on the social landscape. What dark world have we created bretheren?

What have we done?

Dumbass teenage girls have been doing this long before Juno and Jamie Lynn Spears.

... really, Juno glorifies teen pregnancy? Never seemed like that was the case to me.

Exactly. Pokemon was first out when these girls were, what, 7? That's an impressionable young age . . .

They just wanted something to love them unconditionally. Until two in the morning when they just want some boob-milk dammit! Thinking ahead ftw.

"Landry cautioned against attributing the trend to Hollywood following the recent hit movie "Juno," in which a teenager gets pregnant and decides to have the baby, and "Knocked Up," a comedy about a one-night stand.

"The trend emerged before those movies," he said. "

I like your joke, but I just want to make sure MSNBC doesn't end up being blamed for something they didn't really say.

You're ok in my book!

MSNBC is playing it balanced, as they point out the immediate media correlation on everyone's mind, but present statements to debunk the connection.

As long as teenagers have functioning reproductive organs and absolutely no sense of perspective, this will continue to go on.
