QUICKBLOG! - And suddenly, I'm drawn to purchase Bangai-O Spirits. Like Right NOW.

So I was sitting in the dentist's office yesterday, reading Ebony magazine before moving on to Auto somethign or other, and I noticed something strange in their Christmas gift suggestion section.

Bangai-O Spirits for the DS.

I think to myself "That's an odd choice." I'd think Ebony would go for something really mainstream, like Horse Adventure, or Pokeman. But Bangai-O? Its not like it came with a description and a review. Just the box art, the name, and "Available at retailers". maybe they heard abotu the value of 150 levels, plus a level editor, and figured it was a great value.

I dunno. But now, I'm kinda obsessed with the idea of it. Even faced with the unspoken charge of picking up Left 4 Dead like all the cool kids, I'm a thousand times more drawn to just go out and pick up Bangai-O Spirits. I like shooters, and a level editor for a shooter is really inticing.

When a feeling like this takes hold, what can one do but submit and see where it gets you?

Meanwhile, I haven't touch my last impulse DS buy, Hotel Dusk, in months.

buy it, it's awesome. If you like 2d shooters you'll love it. 150 levels is a lot and there's also the really cool level editor in it. Also why not get L4D and Bangi-O spirits?

Cereally . . . buy it! You will have to be a little patient with it as you get to the harder levels and you get exploded in a matter of seconds if you don't know what you're doing, but it is a highly rewarding and intense game!

pretty much buy it dude

it's a fucking awesome game, and you feel like such a badass releasing multi-directional laser shots that fill the entire screen.

I played some of this game at PAX. It was pretty much impossible until I realized that R was the "Destroy Everything" button. Although it meant that it was more like a puzzle game than a shooter. Still, it's an awesome game, I bought a copy but haven't been able to play it since my DS is broken.

Well [InsertBloggerNameHere], I'm personally indifferent about you, which is ok.

But, the posting regulars at the site will generally get a little twisty about such frequent, light on content posts. Since everything you post in a C-Blog (Community, Blog) hits the front page immediately, people like to see things there of substance (Longer reviews, different from normal opinions, pretty pictures). Otherwise, the effect is that your light-on-content post pushes down posts of people that put lots and lots of effort into a high quality blog post.

Atheistium, ThisYearsPink, Yoj1mb0, Thefil (sort of), and the early works of Conrad Zimmerman are examples of posters that clearly put a good amount of effort into their posts, and contribute interesting stuff to the site through the C-Blogs.
