Players can elect to summon "cartoony" versions of bats, bombs, guns, and flamethrowers. These types of items can be used to destroy objects or even other summoned items (e.g., a club can be used to hit an animal; steak can be attached to a baby to attract lions; rockets can be lobbed at a man).

"Right after getting back to Japan, [Miyamoto] suddenly said: "You know we're including golf now." Apparently he'd stated in an interview that this time round golf shots would be determined by the backswing, even though at that time a golf game didn't exist in any shape or form!"

I was going to say the exact same thing. One of my cats (the one I held to my face in that Silent Hill pic) absolutely loves Bit.Trip VOID. She's a big part of why I still can't beat the first level.
Regarding your blog header; J'NAI ANIME! XOD
Beat didn't do a thing for him, and I haven't opened up Core in months. :)
I think he's tracking the Void, mostly. But the pulsing background and constant, smooth movement probably heightens the experience.
Priceless.
My cat has been temporarily enamored with moving objects in Borderlands...and any wildlife television show on PBS. She's an attention whore, however, and demands that I spend any free time playing "catch" with her. =^..^=
My cat has never been too interested in games, but she WILL chase around a mouse cursor and bat at the computer monitor if I draw for her in MS Paint.
As far as Bit Trip goes, I just downloaded VOID yesterday and it's going to take some getting used to.
Cats are colorblind.
And I just tried to get my cat to watch me play Bit Trip Void. Nothin. Then I tried Tetris DS and Sonic Rush on the DS. Nothin. Then I let my cat listen to that Daft Punk song "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger." His head was moving to the beat, so cute.
