I've spent my first evening gaming with Motion Plus and I am floored and obsessed with what the add on delivers. Maybe just an ounce of hyperbole in that statement, but frankly, not much! I'm at this very moment (while at my workstation, I'm bemused to add) completely preoccupied with the thought and anticipation of things I could be doing with Motion Plus. I've only played a round of golf and a full 18 "holes" of disc golf, but the possibilities and fidelity of the system has my mind running WILD with wanting to experience more with the controls. Its like when the "revolution" was announced, but more so, because I've seen it work with my own hand. Seeing a glyph representational of my own hand rotating in all the ways my hand is rotating is right around life changing. Considering the years of technology speculation I've been privy to, seeing this one thing actually happen is really kind of a big deal! Admittedly though, this is from the guy that got a kick out of turning the key locks in Metroid Prime: Corruption. But there's so many possibilities for gameplay applications, and I need to get my hands on it! Think about Echochrome, where all you're doing is manipulating 3D image for controls. Or something like Trauma Center, where you're called upon for spacial precision. I can imagine moving a tool in 3D space and getting that immediate gratification of translation directly into the virtual space. Considering, even a mech game that calls upon different lever positions (mapped to activate by the various wiimote and nunchuck buttons) to steer your gear. The possibilities are infectious and there's so little on the foreseeable horizon!
Wii Sports Resort is probably my most anticipated title this summer, without question. The Conduit? Enh, ok sure. But a dozen games that take advantage of real 1:1 motion recognition? THAT'S what I want now! After that, sure, there's Red Steel 2 in the winter. However, its been made pretty clear to me by previews that Red Steel 2 is in the unfortunate position of retrofitting the Motion Plus tech into their top tier functioning pre-motion plus game. Unless there's a glut of sliders and controls we just don't know about, the depth of usage is shaping out to be a little shallow, compared to the efforts of EA and Nintendo. WiiWare is my hope for filling that void. Frankly, I wish that I had the resources to fund, acquire or otherwise create a development house to make fresh, from-the-ground-up Motion Plus experience for the Wii's download service. Just to start exploring the functionality, at the benefit of low marketing and production cost afforded by the digital platform. As great as the experiences are that I have my hands on, we're sitting on the warp drive and nobody's making starships!
And so, I go back to trying my hardest to focus on the task at hand. My creative mind, awake like a child before Christmas morning, will just have to lie down and force himself to sleep. Santa's coming kid, but you're going to have to be patient.

Virtua Tennis (By Sega)
Grand Slam Tennis (by EA)
At least, I think the two tennis games are out now. They're nto bundled with the add-on, though
Either way, Sports Resort! I could play the fencing gladiators game over and over.
In the right development hands, yes, this is the real deal.
Last night I threw a frisbee cross arm, outside toss, over hand and underhand. I threw grounders. I threw curving arcs. I threw horrible throws that went up and lost its horizontal velocity.
When I moved my hand around, the 3D icon before throwing recognized accurately represented the 3D position of my hand.
mind kinda blown.
$20 for Motion Plus
$40 for a whole bunch of frisbee golf courses, a bunch of realistic-ish putt putt golf courses and a bunch of golf mini/arcade games
I'm not a huge golf fan, but I'm digging the career mode/character customization so far. Its the gamey things built around the golf season mode (character customization, skill ups, acheivements, etc) that's drawing me in.
Eh, might as well I suppose. I just wish I had crappy games to trade in and soften the blow.
Interesting. I was expecting less since the Red Steel 2 preview, but Ubisoft can suck some dicks.
Frenshay!
Also, I also loved turning shit in Metroid Corruption. Made it really immersive.
I'm really excited to see if anyone can come up with some cool things to do with Motion Plus.
