About
Hello, my name is Brian. I live in GA, the weather there sucks and there are many many stupid people here as well. I am an art student at a community college, because you pretty much do the same thing there as at a regular university but it's a lot cheaper. Woo!

I don't have much money to buy new fancy consoles, hence the community college, so instead I have a PS2 and a Gamecube (which was $30 and came with SSBM, yeah!). I also have a PSone and a Dreamcast along with a computer which I use for games time to time, but I mostly just stick with my other two consoles. One of my favorite series is Resident Evil because killing zombies and running around yelling "oh s---" to yourself every 5 minutes is the most fun you can ever have! Refer to first statement in this paragraph about why I'm not playing Left4Dead right now. Also finding games I consider to be "rare" makes me happy. Finding games like Rez, Skies of Arcadia Legends, and Ico at used game stores makes me jump for joy.

Besides all there there isn't really much else to me.

I've noticed that there are quite a few artists at Destructoid, and although I can't hold a candle to many of them I do like to see what people think about what I can do. So tell me what you guys think, I'm still a continuing student so they can only get better, right? I might have re sized them a little small, but I don't like it when they go outside the page and force you to scroll over.

This is a self portrait that I did of myself, it's a little heavy on the ink but oh well.

Then the one picture that I actually did for class. My teacher had brought in pieces of raw chicken and we had to draw them, I understood that we had to make a picture out of them though so I made them intro a dress. Fashion design might be something I should look into haha.

There you go, my hobby. My blog seemed a little bland with just an intro page, hopefully this brightens it up a bit.

Hey there, everything looks interesting here. Lots of high contrast pieces, and some interesting color choices. I would suggest working on your separation of elements. For example, the second one with the sunflower and the designs in the middle, I would make the sunflower a tad bolder with some thicker lines. The overall structure of the image is nice, it's very abstract and flighty; I like that. I would just be mindful of having all your colors, lines, and elements more defined so that your vision is more easily understood. The first image is really nice, reminds me of film noir a bit. I would prefer to see a little bit more atmosphere, or more dramatic and bold lines to show the tension of the scene, but that's about it. The third one is a pretty cool idea, I like that. I think you should explore it a little more in future work. The fourth, your self portrait, is really good. You have a handle on high contrast b&w imagery, and I would focus on that as well. Overall, great job man! Keep up the good work, and yes, you can only get better. Never stop exploring your mind for new ideas.

Always nice to see community art! I really like the self-portrait, the high contrast ink. Very graphic. I like the style.

Also, not sure if you know but Jana Sterbak, a Canadian artist, Created an actual dress out of meat. Google it, pretty nifty.
@ TOGAIL:
Thanks for the input. It's nice to actually have an art teacher make suggestions instead of just "oh it looks nice." Most of the pictures that I do are just playing around with ideas, like the first one where I spent most of my effort on the main figure and the rest was actually just filler haha.

@PERRI:
I looked up that dress, I would wear it. It's funny that you mention it being very graphic because my last art teacher seemed to think that everything I did had a very big design element in it haha.
Yay art! Always nice to have another artist around. :)
