I agree that the training really should have taught the basics of command, but that would be hard to do. In my opinion the bigger failing is the game manual that comes with it. If you look at it, it is even more basic than the in game training.
That said, if you can get good people together the game is amazing. You also don't really need 7 other people, I played with 4 and then 5 other people I knew and everyone else just kind of fell in line with the plan. That said I am a pretty competent leader and know several others, and when you have one of those it is fairly easy to completely crush any type of resistance.

It's like, with every month that passes that I don't have a PS3, something incredible comes out for that console. At this rate, the PS3 will have a game that cures cancer and shrinks the poverty gap, yet I'll still not own one.
Excellent point about the training!! I had hoped it would cover squad leader, platoon leader and OIC roles... but sadly it did not. It would also have been great to try out the different weapons and equipment pieces to see what they do and how they work. The whole loadout system could also have been better explained in the training. It was far too short and simple.
Awesome blog Trioptical! (and hope to see you tonight ingame... should be a bunch of us and it would be great to get a full squad together!)

Hey...just noticed this was your first blog, though I've seen you around commenting. Awesome first blog! :)
Very much on the boarder about this game. Not liking the animation and control scheme, but I love co-op/team play, FPS, and overall fun. I played the beta and wasn't impressed tbh. How much does the final game differ from the beta? Or if not so much, is tactical play actually used? I dont want to think it's 50/50 whether I'm on a team who'll actually listen to the commands, or just crumple.
I think I will wait until its drops to at least 30 bucks before I consider picking this up. I am a cheap and picky gamer haha.
I'm also going to wait for a price drop before I even think about picking the game up. The shooting feels soo off puting in this game for some reason.
I think it's how the lack of gun recoil really stands out. I also agree with everyone else that the animations are pretty much garbage.
