About Me
What can I say? Basically, I've been playing video games almost my entire life, currently 25 years old, starting all the way back with the Atari and moving on up over the years. I loved playing with the Atari, but my "hardcoreness", I suppose you could say, didn't really set in until I got a Nintendo Entertainment System.

Super Mario Bros. was great and all, but Mega Man is what solidified my love of gaming, at least that's what stands out the most reminiscing of my childhood of gaming. Also games like Super Mario Bros. 3.

My next console leap was to the Sega Genesis and sometime later I got the Super Nintendo. Super Nintendo was hands down the better of the two consoles in my eyes. The Genesis became an abomination toward the end of it's life cycle. I'd like to claim it was pure hardcoreness that led me to purchase a 32X and such, but honestly it was stupidity, heh.

I skipped the Saturn, wasn't a big fan of Sega at this point and honestly I didn't have any interest in anything on the system. I got a Playstation and eventually a Nintendo 64.

Playstation 2 was next and then eventually a Sega Dreamcast. The Dreamcast was a great system but still ended up failing, which sucks since it ultimately set Sega packing in the console making business. Playstation 2 was great. I got an XBox later and followed much later by a Game Cube.

This generation of consoles I have an XBox 360 and a Nintendo Wii. Both great consoles in their own ways. Don't yet have a PS3, I refused to purchase one until Yakuza 3 was announced for release in the US. It hasn't been officially announced yet, but it's not looking too bad. I may have a PS3 not long from now, but one positive thing about waiting so long is that I'll be able to pick up many great games for low prices if they came out a while ago.

I enjoy a lot of different games and genres. I play a lot of FPS, action/adventure, horror, etc. Love the Resident Evil series, Legacy of Kain series, early Mega Man titles, various wrestling titles, etc.

Liberal Website: Resident Evil a “Racist Video Game Series”

Here we are again. Resident Evil is back to being called racist. The difference, however, is that it's not just Resident Evil 5. Nope, this person is calling the entire series racist. Resident Evil 4 has now finally be called racist as well, however I was dumbfounded to hear one of the complaints, which was they had stereotypical Mexican accents. I really didn't see how it was stereotypical, I mean considering where the game takes place you'd expect them to sound like that, wouldn't you? But, then again, could you actually consider their accent Mexican? They're Spaniards, not Mexicans.

This person also, as usual with these claims, ignore that up until Resident Evil 4 the zombies have been predominately white and not to mention they talk as if these games are being created by white men when in fact it's developed by the Japanese. With Resident Evil 5, now known for a fact to be taking place in Haiti, it's getting blasted for having predominately black zombies. But, why? It's an area where the culture is predominately black anyway, about 95% if I heard correctly. Also, Haiti is steeped in voodoo and zombie myth, so isn't it actually appropriate for a series about zombies appearing in this part of the world?

You take up the role of Resident Evil original Chris Redfield taking on legions of black zombies and this automatically equals racism some how. I can see how seeing a white man killing hordes of black people could look offensive to some, but even in the trailer it was made clear that he was merely defending himself. He didn't just walk into town and start shooting randomly at what ever dark skinned person he saw first, in fact when he walked into town everything seemed normal and no one was attacking him. The trailer shows very clearly that the villagers aren't themselves as you get to see one villager "possessed" by something, they aren't the ones being portrayed as mindless savages, it's whatever is controlling them that is the savage creature(s).

People are just looking to stir up trouble, and these people are always the ones who don't know shit about what they're talking about. Calling Resident Evil a racist series is just ridiculous.

You don't shoot minorities in Resident Evil 5. YOU are the racial minority in Resident Evil 5.

That blasts the whole argument out of the water.
