I would have embedded these videos, but the upload utility was giving me some sass about failed assertions and bad pks. There really isn't much lead-in aside from a spoiler warning if you're the type that hates knowing even the slightest detail about games before hand.
Plasma Cutter - The "pistol" and best candidate for the workhorse that's going to get you through most of the game.
Pulse Rifle - Pew pew ammo-devouring bullet-hose. Since only some little enemies get shot, it's hard to gauge how strong this one is.
Flamethrower - Fire comes out of it, so you can get torn apart by
burning space monsters.
Ripper - Why
wouldn't you want a magnetically suspended, bajillion RPM projectile circular saw?
Line Gun - The big gun featured in some game play clips. Hits really hard, chops up monsters, and... doesn't do much to the environment? It's lack of splash damage and loud impacts on the floor is actually kind of nice. It's sci-fi, they're in space, and they use a big cutting machine that was apparently designed not to accidentally blast holes in the big metal box making them all not die.
Contact Beam - Huge gun. There's also a second appearance of the Ripper, if you didn't get enough buzz saw action before.
Upgrade Bench - Where you'll be making all these things better. It took me a second to figure out how it worked, but I think it's like the Sphere Grid in Final Fantasy or the weapon upgrade system from one of the Ratchet & Clank games.
Across the board, I like all the laser targeting beams coming off everything. They're going to be really useful for enemy dicing on a tight ammunition budget, and they make everything just a little more science-fictiony.
