I made the banner, you just saw the banner, and if you're on my PSN friends list you've probably seen me playing the game every day since launch; it's safe to say I really enjoy Killzone 2. I guess in some sense I decided to write a review because I like to talk about games, but I also did it to share the reasons I love this game that you too might decide to enjoy it in spite of a couple minor issues.
Killzone 2's single player campaign is a good, but by no means a life-changing experience, occasionally with crazy weaponry, and some very intense battles. (

The multiplayer part of Killzone 2 outshines its campaign in many ways without seeming to lose the intensity the single player possesses. It has an expansive class system, remarkable balance and lots to work for. (

*As a side note, I haven't linked to private articles before but I understand it's supposed to work. Please refrain from sexual assault if it doesn't. I'll fix it asap if I find out that's the case.
While I agree with you on most terms... I'm going to have to disagree about the controls... I think the controls kind of hurt the experience a little bit. I'm not saying its game breakingly bad like some idiots profess, but the controls make the game a little more challenging for the -wrong- reasons.. specifically in regards to the weight and delay of movement. I understand they added the sluggish acceleration for the effect of realism, but they simply did it kind of wrong. I'm sure you've noticed that there is a slight delay between controller input and on-screen accordance with said action... here's the problem with that. In reality if you're carrying a giant gun, even if its heavy, the moment you think about moving you actually move. Nobody in their head goes "I should point my gun over here" and then does it a half second later; it's an instant no hesitation action.
Basically the game just needs to tighten up the sluggishness a bit, and add some custom button mapping options like Resistance 2. I'm not saying turn the game into Halo or COD4, just tighten a few loose screws.

I don't percieve any delay though. It moves right away, just slowly. When looking down the sights of the rifles, you can see it start to crawl first, and the way it accelerates makes it easy for me to line up shots, perhaps more so than other games where I would usually twitch back and forth over someone's head without getting the crosshair right on.

Because it was a lot of writing, and linking to two more reasonable posts sounded better than one a mile long.
I don't see that much of a difference between them, but the internets tell me one is closer than the other.
